I'd suspect zero hesitancy from Pep or Txiki if Messi doesn't push the button.

Aside from winning the Champions League, nothing else in club world football would give you immediately millions of new followers.
No brainer for me, Messi is the best footballer in the world and if you have a chance to sign him you will explore all avenues. I like a few others will remain hopeful but I am not getting too excited yet. Keep the posts coming Tolmie.

We’re signing a reserve keeper from Real Madrid...

I told a girlfriend years ago about Iglesias being a goalkeeper & she was sure I was taking the piss, because I was always winding her up.

After I eventually proved it, she then trusted me when I immediately told her Maurice Chevalier once played alongside Nat Lofthouse, for Bolton Wanderers.

Sadly it has all gone quiet on the Upamecano thread, I had been hoping it would return so I could ask does he have a dog called Upamelego?
I know - you now think think Super Joey should be reinstated and me banned :-)

What is it with failed goalkeepers snd second careers? Albert Camus, that fella from Westlife and some Polish lad who I heard went into the priesthood and did quite well

Whilst Maurice was playing for Bolton they had a set of smaller goals, which they changed at half time so they were always defending them. The man who came up with this wheeze was Frank Evans. Such was the lasting effect on Maurice when he left Bolton he wrote his most famous song:
Frank Evans for Little Goals.....
