They are not fine, that's why Pirlo is managing them.

Financially they are not healthy, they took a big gamble with Ronaldo, they needed to win the Champs League, Serie A is almost a given regardless.

It's not worked, they have a aging superstar on crazy money and an aging squad.

The reason they are struggling financially is because they signed Ronaldo pre-Covid. The money made sense then, when they still had fans going to the stadium. The €65 million for matchday income in 2018-19 shows this. It was also an increase of over €10 million from previous season. The impact of Covid means they have lost a lot of this. Signing him was not a gamble if these revenue streams stayed the same (they actually increased matchday and commercial revenue by about €50 million after signing him).

Yeah but...but...but...

His answer covers in general terms how many more potential signings could come in, whether COVID will effect what they spend, and the age profile of players they're going to sign this window.

its a very interesting answer - basically he said no it doesnt affect it in a very roundabout sort of way was my take on it (though they have to be careful about perception from outside in a covid world). His comment about age profile was telling also - young players in the 19-25 bracket BUT every once in a while something might come along and you sign someone that doesnt fit that bracket -

Koulibaly fits this last bit - but so does Messi! ;-)
