As much as it would pain me, if that was the deal then so be it. I love Gabby but he will never be a hitman in the mould of Sergio. If we have to go out in 12 months time to spend on a new forward then fine. If Gabby gets valued at €100mil then that’s decent business, imo.

And what do you do if Aguero's knee packs in again in October?

Play Messi upfront - a position he's not played for 6 years - for 60 games a season? In a new country? When he's been moving towards midfield because the legs aren't quite what they used to be.

Play 17 year old Liam Delap?

Sterling up front? Not eactly the hitman in the Aguero mould.
