Exactly. Have to say the new breed of flappers that have emerged of late take flapping to a new level

I wish I could have hung around near the City fans you lot knew, who never complained about anything.

I bet Ian Bowyer wishes he could have played in front of them.

i hope we do get JFE in , because he has shown what a good defender he is, and the fuckwits heads will explode on this thread, leaving all the rest to enjoy the its quiet thread once again

Cant believe the amount of threads on here claiming we have a weak squad. Laporte back adds strength to last years team. Torres the best young talent to come out of spain. Ake will add give us extra cover in two positions. And I doubt Pep and Txixi are stood about let the days go buy without moving for CB replacements.

I have a feeling half of the flappers are fans from other teams masquerading as city fans and half are the new breed of fans we've accumulated who want blood if we don't win 5-0 every week.
Do you want City to win the league? We wont do it with this defence. That's what's at stake and after this window shuts in two weeks that's it.

This is probably Pep's last season. We want to still be a top football club by the time his time is up. At the moment we're straddling a chasm where everything is still possible. You should at least realise what is a stake.

I think you knew what I was saying. There is your normal run of the mill moaning and groaning and then there's BM 2020. Totally different gravy.

If I get frustrated with transfers, I just think back to 1973 and watching Barney Daniels pull on our shirt. Some are complaining about signing Ake :)

Fuck me marv chill out pal, things aren't that bad.

We got another couple of weeks before the window shuts. And if pep leaves so what, nobody is bigger than the club, we get someone else in and on we go.

Honestly mate just relax, we'll be fine.

I wonder if Pep looked annoyed because he had been reading this thread and thought 'wtf!' the number of bedwetters posting their gloomy opinions is tedious.

Let's wait and see what the position is when the window closes and we can make more informed comments then on our transfer dealings.

Regardless of what does happen, I think we have done tremendous business with Ake and Torres, have some exciting youngsters training with the first team and have a squad which is the envy of every other club.

Because as you know, this was supposed to be the 'rebuild' transfer window & we have needed certain players, for years.

Some choose to ignore it, some grumble about it, some panic about it.

But it should be better for the season start & people get paid a lot of money to make it so.

We would be criticising Ed Woodward on here, if he had so far still not signed a right sided cb, having 3 years' warning, to find one.

I'm saying that Stones, Garcia & Otamendi cannot be trusted to start a PL game based on their performances from last season. Fernandinho borderline.

Fernandinho next to Ake ? Corners ? Set pieces ? Garcia next to Ake ? Long balls, offside fuckups, pace down Garcia's side, corners, set pieces? Otamendi next to Ake? #nutcase.

Stones next to Ake ? Which Stones do we get ?

If all of them have improved in the last month or so, less of a problem.

But I think it's likely we need to score a few & hope Wolves have an off day.

But we have no option, we have to trust them.

The thing what gets me though is that most of the posters on here are who are crying for Koulibaly will be the same posters ripping into him if he has a stinker on his debut.

I think Stones will start. Its well documented hes had off-field problems as well as injuries in the past year. Splitting up with your Mrs who you have had a child too can seriously mess up your head. It happened to me 18 months ago and i still find it hard sometimes.

Hopefully, the time off he's had will of helped him clear his head and focus on football because when hes on it Stones is a exceptional defender

So you are happy to blame the club with no evidence that they are acting incompetently. OK
The football director is tasked with maintaining the continuity of the playing squad. I can't give you the inside track of what players we scouted, what offers were made etc but I can see that the captain of this side has not been replaced, and that's all I need to show. You're asking for blind faith, I ask for deliverables. If they can't produce they will be fired.

I'm hoping Stones gets his act together.

Proper version of Stones, Ake, Laporte & another top class cb would be the best cb squad in the PL.

Maybe, just maybe, after winning back to back titles the players relaxed? They're now second best and have to something to prove. The filthy scum dominated the league for 20+years and only won it 3 times in a row once with less competition than there is now.

Just a thought.
Maybe but Fergiscum was a master at rebuilding squads

Can't believe the negativity. Dippers have bought a full back no-one has heard of and a forward from a team that scored exactly half what we did, and he wasn't a regular starter for them. Plus Thiago who Bayern seemed all to happy to sell. Where's the razor blades?

As I responded to Marv a few posts back, everyone from the club to the fans would want to have all our dealings done well in advance of the first game, but it clearly isn't that simple.

Some of the hyperbole posted on here because we haven't achieved that ideal position has been absolutely cringeworthy at times.

Surely, you see that

No doubts we’ve always had our fair share of pessimists amongst the fanbase, mate, but what we are seeing on here recently goes way beyond a bit of gloom and doom.
The attitude towards our manager and higher ups has been a fucking joke, some of the posts being made aren’t borne out from a bit of frustration for not getting players in, they come across as genuinely unhappy about everything the club is doing.
We all want to compete for titles every season and so far we have done that with a style of football that’s been unmatched. Of course there’s been failures along the way but that is the case with every top club in every country in the world.
Yes, there are holes in the squad and the signing of a high quality CB is definitely something I’d have liked to have seen happen but fuck throwing my toys out of the pram and coming on here posting the same thing 30 times a day saying how unfair it is and how every team has improved apart from us.
The squad we have going into the first game is more than good enough to win the league this season. By the time the window closes I believe it will be even stronger.
The club has plenty of credit in the bank for me so I’d rather trust that they are trying to do the right thing than slag them off to fuck because we haven’t signed 6 players.

I think my frustration, but I should know better as it’s just not us, is that I wish we were just a bit more ruthless when it came to transfers, instead of fannying around as usual.

People forget that we’ve got to shift players to free up room for incomings, which is a ball ache when clubs only come calling late in the window when they know they can pull our pants down.

The Garcia/Otamendi/Zinchenko transfers out, in a perfect world, would have been done by now and we’d have potentially shifted Stones too.

Then the incomings would be easy.

Watched him play for County once or twice, think he scored 4 in one game. Barney Daniels walks on water......

just not at City
