If I were to comment strictly based on heart, I would agree with you.

But in reality I don't think it'll be a concern at all.
First of all, we score around 100 goals each of the last two seasons, 100! Of which around 20 came from Kun. Goals come from our entire attack and midfield, with the occasional freak headed corner from our defenders. Just take a look at how many goals we have scored since his latest injury. It's a lot.

And secondly, - we will not try to replace Kun with another Kun, but instead go for someone else who will add to the totality of the squad. Now this someone else needs to be a great player, of course, but might have very different attributes than Aguero. I'm personally not sure of what kind of striker profile we are in need of to be honest, but I suspect it will be an even more all-round striker than Kun, someone more like Jesús, someone who will operate over the entire width of the field if called for, as well as doing a defensive job. Not an easy player profile to find.

But whomever it will be, it will NOT be a Aguero replacement. It will be something and something different. And who knows, - maybe someone who will make us even better?
In Pep and management I trust.

(Discalimer - I love Kun to bits and pieces.)
How many of those 100 goals this season won us points? The one more than the opponents is the points winner any after that just boost the goal difference
Don’t get me wrong I want to see free flowing football but this stat of the number of goals is meaningless really

The season is still going. Teams we are supposedly signing from still have huge games left themselves to stay up, qualify for champs league, compete in champs league etc
Eventually everyones eyes move to transfers for next season, but not whilst those players are critical to their current season ambitions

Should hopefully be getting Torres within the next week or two. Ake around then as well.

If its Koulibaly, I'd expect him after Napoli's CL finishes + a few weeks for negotiations so we're looking toward the end of August by logic.

Think you are right...Napoli with stuff left to play for and cant see anything useful happening either way with him (or at least anything legit becoming common knowledge) before mid/late August at earliest - plus its Napoli! We will need to prepare ourselves for so much crap from heir owner in the press and disinformation and mind games from him alone

genuinely think we`ll walk if he becomes a prick again to be honest. There is other targets out there and i think the club will want things sorted quicker all around europe with a shorter break and quicker season starts for next season.

I totally agree with you, and statistics in this case are only indicators, really.

And in this particular case, 100 + goals indicates we score a shitload, far more than any other team, but still we do not win the league. This tells me, that this call I see quite a lot here on the boards, for a "replacement" of Aguero (and Sane), is really not that big of a problem.
I don't see how we would prevent further losses next season by first of all making sure we sign a Sane replacement (for example).

But I would of course love to see us keep banging them in for fun AND have a better defense, and I fully believe that is what is in Pep's mind.

Our problem is not scoring enough, look at the chances created during the loses v chances conceded, score more chances win more matches

That is another perspective on the problem that I hadn't considered. Of course that's one way to deal with it.

And I reckon that's how pep will see it, there's no doubting we make silly mistakes, usually a missed place pass that starts the problem, but score our good chances and we would win ALL of the matches, it's never going to happen though

Would help if we had quick starts and score early. Southampton for example, 26 shots no goals against packed defence. But had we scored early on, then maybe they would come out more ?

It all adds up doesn't it. Extra CB being more solid at the back is not just about handling counters. It means more grinding pressure on a defence over the course of a game as they can't get out and more of those last minute wins that Raheem pulled out of the bag for us so often in 17/18.

it’s all about opinions but I’d much sooner see us dominate teams and win 5:0 than carve out a tight 1.0 every week.
