It’s not worrying as such, it’s more confusion.
I’ve been told “We won’t be giving Barça a penny, nor are we giving Messi any.”
Yet we’re giving Messi £375k a week. (NP)
Not giving Barca anything - yet they can’t have any tier 1 players, but they can have García, Angelino, Gundogan etc..
I’m glad I’m not stoned yet.

I said we’d not give Messi a penny because sponsorship will pay any fees and his wage... I even wrote the numbers down so not sure why you are confused?

Later you did replying to me, you didn’t mention sponsorship when you wrote about not giving Messi a penny.

I thought wages were a pretty obvious expenditure? But the money we‘ll make will far exceed the money we outlay.
Not giving him a penny isn’t quite the same as wages being obvious.
I knew with sponsorship we’d pretty much be covering his wage, that was discussed last week on here.
like I said confusing.

Thanks Lee. Beer just came out of my nostrils :)
Just thinking of a game when Raz & Bernardo have run the opposition ragged and we're 5-0 up. Messi is being saved for the next CL game but needs a few minutes in his legs. Pep subs Raz from his MOTM performance and Messi jogs on for the last 10 mins. The cameras zoom in on the opposition right back, who can be seen to say .... "FFS" :)

We have proposed a very innovative way of paying him through the CFG. FFP can't touch it, seemingly.

As a result, Messi will be paid very much in line with the rises the club also have in the pipe for Raz and Kev, so about £375k a week plus other bonuses.

Guardiola is now driving this bus. I'm so fucking happy, even sounds like Barca can get fucked on anything substantial in terms of cash.

Garcia, Gundo, Stones, Otamendi, Cancelo, Zinchenko and Angelino, they can have their pick, but we will not be sending any tier one their way.

These "innovative" contracts scare the life out of me. I know it is not necessarily illegal. But I'd wager that some salty exec who has it for City will find a way to make this haunt us. It doesn't help that these miscreants have hackers working for them.
