So with the players Chelsea have signed, and scousers and rags no doubt continuing to benefit from all VAR decisions, what positions do we need to improve?

I reckon Cancelo can play LB so we don't need another, just Koulibaly at CB and a fast defensive midfielder in my opinion.

The hardest thing to fix is someone to finish off those chances we keep pissing away when we have 20 shots and 80% possession then end up losing the game.

Why I think we should have gone for Werner and Havertz. They look really good.

I fully agree we need a fast defensive midfielder, however I think Pep is happy with Gundogan and Rodri; for some reason.

Pep has a very strict view of how the 6 role should be played. It’s the way he played it himself, the way Busquets played it, the way Xabi Alonso played it. It’s why he signed Rodri and tried to sign Jorginho when most people wanted a Fernandinho clone

It’s a credit to Fernandinho that he was so good that Pep had to relent and play him there. But he doesn’t seem interested in finding a like-for-like replacement

well, I'm sure he must love not winning the title then.

Havertz is an attacking mid and not someone we need. We have De Bruyne, Foden and Bernardo in this position.

Striker wise we are set. Agüero still has a year or two at the very top and Jesus is getting better every season. We should be lucky we have a striker as good as him as a secondary man. He’d start for most european teams.

I’d say a box-to-box Aouar to speed things up in the middle, and Koulibaly.
A couple of weeks ago I’d say leftback, but I’d be happy playing Mendy-Aké there. This upcoming season is probably make or break for Mendy at this club. He need to get back to his Monaco form and fast. That’s the guy we bought.

Emotions are maybe a bit raw now after the news that Messi is staying but am I reading too much into that Sam Lee tweet or was it some kind of piss take on Tolmie's FC posts on here?

Just a bit of fun with the FC terminology.

As stated in one of the other pages, it's clear as anything that he needed to get it out there how much he loves Barcelona and despite even making his family unhappy, wanted to be happy somewhere else. It's a final powerplay, inviting a bid to be considered, under the scrutiny of the the world.

DO you think we will now put a bid in to apply pressure?

I think both Mendy and Bernardo need to rediscover their form.

I doubt Mendy ever will, his knee injury's have taken their toll.

As for Haverz and Werner, I hope we don't regret not going for them.

Supposedly we have a plan B to messi

IF we dont go back for Messi it means we have a big wedge left and a lot of wiggle room to sign someone else - other clubs may be worrying about their big players.

I hope it isn't sick note Kane.

How anyone can watch that Messi interview and slag him off is beyond me. The guy is clearly gutted about how this has turned out. I'm not clinging on but I'll be very surprised if this is the end of the story

Why would he make that interview days ago though if there was a genuine chance of him moving?
