A lot of people haven't warmed to Mahrez because of that penalty miss. One of our top 3 players last year. Wouldn't be surprised if he wanted to move after being left out of the starting line up in the UCL 1/4 final.

I wasn't impressed when he missed that penalty but its not something I would hold against long term.
I think Mahrez is a fantastically talented player but he lacks bottle.. He pulls out of tackles and doesn't track back but I would rather have him at City than sell him to be honest.

Mahrez is frustrating at times, but we’d be stupid to sell him. Unless of course we have something better lined up......

No hard feelings towards him for that penalty miss (seething at the time).

Add to that Torres' burning desire and confidence and Mahrez looks like being in a difficult situation in terms of competition.

I generally hope we are putting desire and attitude/work rate top on our scouting criteria. That's what makes the difference.
We have too many nice lads, we need more intensity.
Charlie Adam and Jordan Henderson like this

Like Mahrez but if we can agree a deal with Madrid that involves Regullion and cash that we can use to sign Aouar, I'd be hard pressed to say we wouldn't improve.

Regullion is off. There might be a better chance with Alaba

Don’t hold it against him long term but still bring it up 3 seasons later?! It was a missed pen ffs, it happens

The journalist close to Aguero, said a day ago that we let Angelino go as we have already wrapped up a signing at lb, he was asked who, hinted at Tagliafico. Apparently he's reliable tier 1.
If you want to know what Sergio ate for breakfast last week, or when Sergio is starting an important game on the bench, Jose's your man. For transfers not so much.

Taglifaco is slow apparently. So would be another slow defender to already slow backline.

We were linked with him months ago.

I wouldn't go as far to say our transfer business so far has been a shambles, but it is weird that you're not allowed to express a negative opinion on it without being shouted down by the usual suspects. We make mistakes all the time (as everyone does) and this is a discussion board about transfers. Isn't that the purpose?
I’d say the negative/positive split of posting in here is closer to 50/50 than you give credit for.

I’ve read tons of crap from both camps.

If Real offered a decent price, we would be crazy not to consider selling a 29 year old who has hardly set the world alight at City. I don’t trust the guy, he plays for himself. No doubt come the end of any season, he’s likely to be there or thereabouts for double figures for goals and assists but I think it masks his bang average performances over most 90mins. If he is going to stand around with his thumb up his arse for 85 minutes of most games, I want 25 goals a season from him like Liverpool get from Salah.
