Not got the team to play In away that is successful in what sense ? We now have a better backline a new winger we needed both

Some deep psychological analysis of Pep here !!, lots of "ifs" in this measured post. If I felt like this I would leave Bluemoon, clean my hard drives of any and all City references, burn the City books, dvds, shirts and references to our great and varied 125 year history. I would repaint any blue walls, only venture outdoors when it was dark (blue moon nights excepted) and ask my family to never use the words City, Blue, Pep and never claim football is enjoyable. Ultimately I would study ostrich behaviour and bury my head in the sand until someone screaming "ding dong the witch is gone" tells me that our calamitous club has been rescued from impending doom by appointing Baconface as manager with Big Sam as technical director and world domination is assured. Thankfully I don't feel like this, so I'll continue to do what I have done for 55 years of highs and lows and much mediocrity, never analysing why, just mostly enjoying following City and the inevitable roller coaster ride. Blueparrot's comment is well worth considering.

He lost his mother to Covid, maybe that is still upsetting, but you crack on as your more a body language expert than me

To be fair I would think 99% of players and management of all clubs are not enjoying it at this present time.

Football and all sport is about emotions and without fans inside stadiums the game is nothing.

It's difficult to watch on tv , I would think playing in an empty stadium must be extremely difficult and far from enjoyable.

It is happening at the moment. Liverpool are dominating the league. They rose to the occasion of a title challenge in 18/19. Since that season they have carried on their form and been consistently the best team unfortunately.

Agree mate....I look at this in a different way tho. Shouldnt we be comparing the squad to the year before? After all that was the standard and the last time we beat Liverpool to the prem. Having Kompany, Sane, younger Fern and younger Silva.......I agree completely that we stronger than last season but if we want to win back the prem, last year shouldnt be our gold standard...

I do think the delay in replacing Kompany has cost us 12months in our rebuild....we cant buy everyone this summer but replacing Kompany last year would have released us to look at LB,CM or striker this window..

Looking forward to seeing the Laporte/Dias partnership grow..

Haha! Similar to the Diaz deal - been linked with him before and probably isn’t first choice but could definitely do a job. Would then allow Bernardo and Phil to be classed as 8’s and then we’d have Raz, Mahrez, Torres and Zaha for the wing spots. Add to the fact that Zaha can play through the middle it wouldn’t be the worst signing in the world. He obviously wants to leave Palace so you’d imagine a deal could be struck.

We have an upmarket version of Zaha in Mahrez, and he in my opinion is not a city player.
