Im guessing Haaland will be one of the most payed players on the team if he signs?

You could ask the same question of Txiki and he would probably still say no more than 70 per cent at this stage.

Haaland knows where he wants to go but he would be foolish not to wait and see what all the clubs are offering in terms of wages.

If nothing else, his agent certainly will tell him to keep quiet until he can leverage the next wage.

I'm more optimistic, as I know someone who knows his old man very well and there is nothing I am hearing yet that makes me think we aren't the outstanding favourites.

We seem to have a bargaining chip with most of our targets. Sancho sell on clause with Haaland. Douglas Luiz buy back with Grealish. Pedro Porro situation with Nuno Mendes. Txiki is making moves!

Should go without saying, mate.

Mbappe has been earning four times as much as Haaland for three years now.

Haaland is at that level, so is well within his rights to start getting paid.

The game is moving on. Sergio has been on £250k a week for ten years, so Haaland knows he can easily get a premium on that.

A lot of people need to get paid, Dortmund, Mino and Haaland's dad (the family)

I'm sure we will structure his signing fee and loyalty bonuses over the length of six year deal.

His old man must surely be looking at a £10m pay day for his own services.

So you are saying Haaland is actually clear in his mind that he wants to come here? It’s not a case of “I’d be happy to go either x, y or z”, it’s literally “I want City”?

Always a chance but it doesn't look good does it?

Pep has the final say and is ready to cut the cord.

He is a big earner but I don't think City as a club are making this the deciding factor, we don't do that to legends.

If he does leave, it will be purely for footballing reasons, but would hope he would get a 'present'.

At this stage, I don't want to see him stay. It's quite sad for me to watch him looking on from the outside and his game not suited at all to the evolution or new legs in the team.

I hope if he does go it is to Paris, or one of the big clubs in Italy or Spain.

The club certainly knew the contractual situation going into this summer with Sergio and Fern...

I feel like that, too. He is the last of that group of players who propelled us to all this. I suppose Fernandinho could be put in that, but I go off that 2012 side mainly. In what seems like the blink of an eye, Aguero is the last of that group, and to see him looking on from the bench is sad. Injuries permitting, he could go to Italy and do it all over again. Same with Spain. I hope he gets the exact club and deal he wants, and goes with everyones well-wishes. He's a fucking legend.

It might be that, as you say, everyone might feel confident of something but anything can happen, from financial, to political change all the way to a medical problem - you could never be more than 70% sure till someone is sat pen in hand, asking which of the little day-glow arrows are for him to sign.

Even more so in the middle of world events currently - which I do actually think helps us out in terms of our stability when measured against other clubs.

If we can give him the trophy he wants (UCL), I think the best decision for all parties will be for Kun to leave to Barca followed by the MLS. Messi and Kun playing together at both Barca and in the US is something I can see happening.

He seemingly does know where he wants to go, but a few clubs not shown their hand yet, including Madrid.

I never take it for granted what goes through the mind of a player when the enormity of a decision is laid bare.

We can be very hopeful. I'm sure the stuff will be ramped up to the max in terms of supposed inside track and leaks as our game against Dortmund approaches.
