Messi would be an unreal signing still, wouldn’t be doubting going into the season with a false 9 if it was the greatest player to grace the planet filling the position!
If that came off I’d be happy focussing on other positions and not signing a striker, personally would rather wait a year for haaland than bring kane in this summer anyway

We will have a striker

Looks like this transfer window will be full of smoke and mirrors, fortunately I think the smoke is blue and city are holding the smoke machine and the mirrors.

Lots of rubbish and quoting rumours of rumours so very little in real fact on Twitter or in papers.

There is however a consistency of activity in some sections of CFG staff and levels of giddiness for months now that I haven’t seen since my kids on Christmas Eve.

Someone is getting their presents this summer and I think it’s big.

And I think the bookies have some transfer odds way way off too.

8D chess indeed

You think its going to be his farewell game? 45 minutes each side?

Without nailing me to a cross, it's not beyond the realms, certainly in terms of how the hell would he get to say a playing goodbye to Barcelona if he did not renew?

The previous Barca president didn't care about hanging Messi out to dry.

Laporta is a businessman, he would surely want to preserve the Messi legacy and also ensure the right narrative.

Again, should Messi decide not to renew, obviously!

All these City players being linked to Barca can't be a coincidence, as you say?

From a PR perspective, it could be construed as a placation from Barca to their fans.

the only thing I could guess that would make them giddy is Messi, he’s still the best player in the world.

Knowing our luck he’d break his leg in first half!
