Bit surprised we haven't had any links to Isak. That's a sort of player who could be money's worth

Whilst options C, D, E etc are great and minimal contingency planning I’d expect from our management, it won’t work in practice for us this time.

You sign a lower calibre, high potential option and it takes him 12 months to get up to speed. Not a problem when its Torres as theres 4 other quality wing options to take the weight. Not a problem when its Ake as theres 4 other quality CB options to take the weight.

With the striker, theres Gabby who realistically isn’t clinical enough to be the main man for our team for a full season and then only false 9 options. In the meantime we’ve got a project player filling in when possible and we’re not much better off vs season just gone.

If we’re serious about maintaining our dominance there’s a very short list of targets and we may bluff about looking elsewhere but I very much doubt we will.

He’s a player that in the right system looks world class. In the wrong one he looks like Akinfaye. There doesn’t seem to be any middle ground with him. I can’t see him consistently taking the ball under pressure against a packed defence which is what we face most games.

Which system is it he looks world class? Is it the 442 at Everton, the 433 of Belgium or the 352 of Inter?

agree - but at the time, even Kev was being described (by KFAs) as overpriced & wasn’t really being coveted by the big spenders (more fool them!).

I can’t believe we’ll get Kane or Halaand simply because we don’t do big famous names. Wish we would this year - & beat the perpetual big spenders (rags Chelsea Barca PSG RM etc ) to the prize signing
