Anyone really that arsed about Torres? He's been average out wide and will hardly play even when he's fit.

Palmer will be given more minutes and he's a better talent IMO.
No never rated him. He’s not cut out for the PL. He’s anonymous in too many games

We’ve not missed him at all since he’s been injured

Get decent money for him and chuck it in the kitty to buy a proper elite striker

Torres is a very good player and is Mahrez successor in all likelihood. Without the injury I believe he would have nailed down a place in the team by now. He can play anywhere across the front 3 and, in time would be a natural without looking out of place in any of those positions.

However I see the appeal for him to go back to Spain, he was used sparingly by Guardiola at City last season. Guardiola I suspect is bedding him in to the team slowly to get him accustomed to the way we play. He could be a massive player for us this season and in the future. Torres may not trust or have the patience for the greater plan for him at City and in Spain he could be the Poster boy for Spanish football.

Squad planning is an almost impossible task, but it does feel like either Mahrez and Gundogan need to be pushed out a couple of years early, or players like McAtee, Torres, maybe even Palmer will want to leave.

Torres, Palmer and McAtee should all be in the current and future plans of City, you’re right, it is a fine balance of squad rotation. I hope as a club we get this right with this trio.

I'd keep Gundogan until his contract is up in 18 months I think? Mahrez can leave at the end of the season for me, as long as Sterling stays.

As much as I rate Torres I wouldn’t be too bothered if he left. We’ve got Cole Palmer who I think will go onto be a better player. I’d rather give him the chance and develop him.
Can’t we develop both here at City without losing either. Both young and both very promising.

Hope he stays, think he could have a great future with us.
That said, if any truth at all to the rumour that he wants out then it’s best to try and pave a way to make that happen.
Sadly for Torres it seems the team he wants have no chance because they’ve not got a pot to piss in.
He needs to keep his head down for now and concentrate on getting back to his best for us, he’s still got a part to play this season.

He's on a long term contract and he's the future of Spain's national team.

I've said this before because I think him being unknown in the UK before he moved makes people underestimate it, but in Spain he was thought of as a Foden-level talent coming through and his performance for Spain - 11 goals in his last 15 caps - backs that feeling up.

No one should be influenced by the fact we paid €25m for him, Valencia were absolutely broke, and he'd just told them he was running his contract down and walking if they didn't sell now.

€100m should be the starting point.

He's just not a Foden level talent though.

He's not nearly on the same level technically, really cannot influence games in the PL and I don't think he'll ever be truly good enough for us. Put Ferran in his natural position out wide and he'll fail to beat his man every time.

At the moment only Foden is club registered. Therefore Palmer, McAtee and another can be be free hits so no need to let Torres leave. Any decent offer which would go towards a top, top centre forward (Haaland) is fine, otherwise, go fuck yourselves.

Surely Frenkie is the key to this, can’t see any other reason why we’d allow Barca to sniff round our players when they haven’t got a pot to piss in.

Frenkie though is not needed, we have rodri here. unless we immediately plan to retire gindo or kdb there is no use for him.
