Laporte is a very good centre half but have we forgotten about his injury and some of his performances in CL? We simply couldn't drop Stones and Dias from starting in CL last season, first sign of him facing competition and he cannot handle that? If Laporte has to go it is just unfortunate, player of his ability deserves to be a regular starter and if he finds that in La Liga so be it. Can't keep em all

Depends who comes in, don't think they are irreplaceable.
Players come, players go. As long as they are capable, suit the 'systems' played, and are happy to rotate, it shouldn't really make a lot of difference. It's how Txiki keeps his job.

There's only one person who seems to be 'irreplaceable' at City... And he's due to be leaving at the end of 22/23.

That's the time to start worrying!

But you are not authorized be un happy if you don’t get game time according to bluemoaners
That's fine tbh, all good players want to play regular and will be unhappy if they can't get time. But the situation is really just out of our control here isn't it? Laporte is a now a full Spanish international and will probably be their starter for coming several years. I think players also sometimes have to accept competition and fight for a place. Last year this time around no one would have even thought of this because in our minds Dias was the partner we had found to pair with Laporte lol. Stones fought for his place and got to where he is now

Which is probably why, if Laporte goes, we may not look for a player of his age and level to come in.I'd bring in either an older player like say Ramos, or a younger player willing to bide their time and challenge for a position.

I wouldn't mind Saul, don't know much about Llorente to be fair.

I was just thinking that if striker prices are prohibitive this summer then doing some kind of Bernado/Felix deal might be a go-er. After all there was some interest in Felix a couple of seasons ago from our side IIRC?
Just what we need. Another false 9.

We wait for Monday for this Euros to fuck off and then the next step will be is to wait for said players come back from their holiday in August to continue negotiation.

Instead of just getting it done. Txiki goes on holiday for 3 weeks now isnt he?
