so players in first and then facilitate the sales? Makes more sense to be honest and am sure city might allow teams to take an extra year or two to pay for said players as long as the fee is right?
They'll be worked on in tandem I'd have thought with perhaps only the final signatures held off until all of the dominoes are in place. I can also see City being flexible in how fees are paid, as it doesn't affect how they put the money through the accounts. They can book it all at once or spread it through the terms of the contract to suit as far as I'm aware. It's no different to any other business.

I can't put a timescale on anything. Who knows how long these things take. This is just my opinion, but I'd expect there to be a much clearer picture on Kane in the next 7-10 days. Similarly with Grealish.

It seems easy to forget we have a damn good squad, and that almost if it really came to nothing happening, we would still be good for next season. We only really need one thing to happen, two maybe if someone were to leave.

I know we need a new striker and are pursuing one, but with torres and jesus to come into rhythm and sterling to rediscover form, Pep's bluff of we are ok not signing anyone, isn't that hollow. Fernandinho extended, Lavia seemingly with a bit of expectation, carson persumed to be staying, most positions are covered, unless someone were to leave.

So the quiet patient approach isn't that surprising.

I still really struggle to see Kane and Greslish happening. We'd have to break our transfer record for one and double it for the other, and neither seem the players to do that for. Grealish possibly more than Kane, but with less need for him. That's just my own inherent barrier i can't seem to get over.
I keep going back to the Chairman's comments and remain confident

Can't say honestly, but lots of policing around these things so maybe City want to keep it tight. Who knows maybe just Bernardo's sale would do.

Last season was more of a free hit with the accounts due to covid and it our losses didnt include the champions league money, the leroy sale etc? That all gets included in the next accounts and we have already sold Angelino for £18m, Jack Harrison for £12m and it looks like nmetcha is going to Wolsfburg for around £10-12m? Like has been mentioned City could sell say Jesus for £50m but allow Juve an extra 2 years longer than normal to pay the full fee? Maybe add Bernardo if he is desperate to leave £60m but the same longer terms? Say for shits and giggles only them deals happen alone then around £150m in and say £220m spend on Kane & Grealish equals a net spend of £70m? There will be a load of fringe player sales as well imo so the net spend could be next to nothing!

All true, but the rolling figures still have to make up for some of the £120 mill loss last year. Think the club were saying over the 2 years the loss would be about £60 mill so the Sane money and a bit more must be earmarked for that balancing.

At £230m+ on them 2 leaves me slightly underwhelmed, especially considering we’re about to smash our transfer record for one and drive a train through it for the other.
