I don't see why we would have let Aguero go if we weren't going to be able to buy a striker this summer

If he was leaving another club we'd probably be looking to sign him

Mate, we are the best run football club on the planet. Post COVID many elite level clubs are screwed financially and there’s no way we’re inflating the market by flashing our cash around like some immoral loadsamoney character. If selling clubs are demanding precovid prices for players we’ll walk away and wish them luck. This isn’t a negotiating position, this is a major player in the transfer market laying down a marker and calling for some realism. This is leadership, both moral and practical, and if some other club wants to pay silly money for a striker let them. We have a brilliant manager who has already solved the no Sergio conundrum, Jesus can play there, KDB, Sterling, Foden, and we may even have a certain Argentinian who has played there many times. So chill out, relax, crack open a beer, and celebrate the fact that our club couldn’t be in better hands. In a few weeks we might be winning 1, 2, 3,4 trophies who knows, and we go into next season stronger than ever regardless of any transfer activity.

I'd love Haaland to come to City but not at any price. It's no coincidence that the clubs that are in the deepest financial shit are the ones that are the most active in the buying frenzy around the latest "generational" talent. It's as though they'll pay any price to prove that they're the most attractive club. Which would be fine if they were also the most successful but they aren't.

We're the best English team of the last decade without paying ridiculously inflated fees for the likes of Di Maria, Martial, Lukaku, Pogba, Maguire, Allison, Van Dyke, Pepe, Kepa, Havertz etc. Barca spend like sailors on shore-leave but aren't better than us. They may get Haaland, but long-term the shit just gets deeper.

Do we really have form for signing 33-year old strikers that barely played the previous season?

Patson Daka stats since we have been linked

Played 31 games

Goals 27

Assists 8

Any chance people could read the last couple of pages so we dont get the same tweet posted a dozen times

Meh. Rather read the same tweet a dozen times, than some shite half a dozen times.

Besides, increases the chance of someone having the sense to bloody translate the ****.

for me haaland agent and his dad are testing the water in going to other clubs and asking what is the market value is now we are in covid-19 pandemic. the transfer market will be hit hard and clubs just don't have the money or can go and get loans based on the future. its could be lower than 60% less for players and also most of payments will have to be paid upfront so clubs can go and spend what they get in selling players

pep as come out today and said city will not be spending £100million on a striker. its impossible we just don't have that sort of money right now ? yes its could be a bluff or playing the game knowing haaland agent is touting the player to others

manchester city have money ? we are properly the only club that can spend £100million. but why let the others think we are the gravy to the dinner. barca madrid are pot less they don't have the money both had to loan money to pay wages. so again the agent was properly testing the water and even knowing haaland is man city bound putting a feeler out in saying we are trying to get a better price out of your rival

i heard on monday that city have offered the buyout clause of around £70million and the rest is on addons over a period of time and also waving the sell on fee on sancho ? so my thinking its £70million in cash and the rest on addons totalling around £110million that's the market value. nobody can pay that or match £110million other than city because its based on the £70miilion we are given them straight away

somebody will have to beat city offer of down £70million plus addons and sancho sell on fee ? i don't see from anybody else. the only way barca and madrid can do it will be player swaps and little cash. but the wages at both of them clubs will mean players not moving if they will be getting less money

does he not look stupid though with the whole we can’t afford it comment if the club then spend £100m on a striker? No issue with saying we might not get one but mentioning we couldn’t afford it will seem foolish if/when the club record spend on one?

Nope.

Sky sports put out this - The Premier League says no decision has yet been made over dates of this summer's transfer window.

But unlikely to be before June either way I'd say.

Fingers crossed end of june till start of august latest. Short and sweet.
