reasonable? He was a shout for motm in probably 12 games. Our win percentage with him in is vastly higher and our attack is far more balanced thank to his quick pass style.

If what he did last season isn’t the answer, I’d suggest you don’t know the question.
In reality our win percentage is high no matter who plays.

Zinchenko has done a reasonable job there just as delph did before him however neither are outstanding in that position. being a very likeable player like Zinch does not mean he's the answer.
Reasonable job? What more does he have to do? It's arguable he's the perfect fit at left back in Peps system, there's no coincidence we looked miles better when he established himself in the side once more. Not to mention its the most stacked position in the squad with 5 players capable of playing there.

Spot on assessment! The key phrase here is "in Pep's system". His ability to stitch together play down the left, to drift into the middle to create overloads, to act as a pivot, to pick out pinpoint passes, as well as make him self available for an Ederson clearance, all makes up for his pretty obvious shortcomings as a traditional full back. Great player, young, keen as mustard, and with great scope to improve as well.

Yep, as Pl Champions, CL finalists, LC winners and FAC semi-finalists that’s not surprising in the least.
However, that doesn’t alter the fact that our win percentage is actually higher when Zinchenko is playing than when he’s not.

Tbf, Mendy is finished at the level we require. Therefore, it would make sense we do better when Zinchenko is playing.

Absolutely, but the big difference is that Zinchenko often drops into midfield to support Rodri, as Cancelo also does on occasion. Zinchenko served his time as a midfielder so it’s a very natural fit for him and he can push right up when the opposition sits back because his ball retention and work in small spaces is top notch.
Mendy is more effective in open games, where his speed can be made to count, but we don’t get many open games and Mendy’s generally crocked anyhow.

we have already briefed no

Time and place. We did, when the season was still going on, some 2 months ago. That was then and this is now. I have no doubt we were and still are interested, and the links keep coming. Whether it gets pursued any more this window or not time will tell.

Thought it was just the other week
