We will probably be willing let him go for virtually nothing next summer, it just depends if he's willing to take a pay cut because no one is paying him what he's currently on here. Either that or we let his contract run down but he's still got two more years left.
Think we are better off paying him out of his contract, to get him away from the club.

Ake is solid, he needs to stay especially if Sandler is going out on loan. He can cover for centre back and left back and has a useful scoring record from corners etc. Mendy won’t go this summer, I am sure of that, because of Covid few clubs have the finances. Maybe City will agree to loan him, but to what end? We will end up paying some of his salary and he isn’t a complete liability, just not as good as we hoped, and he is apparently well-liked in the dressing room. That can be important.

I disagree... he is a complete liability... and I just can't believe how many chances he keeps getting to prove that he is

Not sure he is a ‘complete liability’. Not actually sure how many chances he’s had either cos he’s been unlucky with injuries.
He hasn’t had a great last two matches that’s for sure. He gave away the pen at Wembley and I admit that he and Mendy terrified me yesterday. Saying that I don’t think Dias was his normal commanding self either.

He’ll come good with time and confidence. He was injured a lot last season so was unlucky. I’d still be keeping hold of Laporte though.

Ake is a complete championship level player we thought would be good enough for the club, every game he plays the opponents attack from his side obviously having Mendy doesn't help. But still a glaring level or two down from Stones. Should get binned the moment Laporte or Stones get match fitness. Hopefully be gone next summer for the good of the club. Him, Mendy, Cancelo and Torres should really go, them 4 are always recipe for a loss. Torres specifically is absolutely gutless.

I was talking about Mendy being a complete liability

Ake isn't... he's simply not good enough

Honestly don’t know how Ake can take blame for anything yesterday.
You call him championship level.
What I see is a player with proper defensive instincts.
He played well yesterday being positioned correctly and not diving in guiding Mendy’s man that had just beaten him for the umpteenth time away from goal, holding him up until we got our defensive shape.
The problem down our left wasn’t coming from him. And he was winning plenty in the air from their crosses.

He’s a solid squad player that can cover left back with Zinchenko or a CB position when required. I’d keep him.

Our problems yesterday were evident up front. We should have been a goal up or two in the first 15 minutes, but we have nothing of any real threat up there.

Grealish was by no means the creative replacement we need since Silva leaving, but what he did show was that it makes a big difference if our ball retention in the final third is better. He doesn’t lose the ball and draws fouls. Sterling on the other hand gets turned over as often as Mendy. That was our undoing.
Ake wasn’t the problem yesterday.
That wasn’t evident from what I watched.

His defending for the goal was very poor. Allowed son to make space for the shot far too easily

Chuck in his complete balls-up last week, that's two goals in two matches mainly down to his poor defending or mistakes
