Frankly it does make you think, wouldn’t another club have closed the Kane deal even with Levy and all? Even another English club, for that matter?
They’re not at Barcelona anymore and sometimes it seems like they haven’t realized that
I think this came down to Spurs quoting a ridiculous price and their chairman making a point of not budging more than any internal factors. How would people have felt had we announced the signing of Kane for £160m? People would have said we’d had our pants pulled down and that our negotiators are clueless. I just put this down to typical difference in valuation between two clubs and the press hype / circumstances of Kane being late back to training making it a bigger deal to fans than it actually is.

Don’t like criticising City but, on this occasion, I do think this has been fuck up.

Job number 1 get a striker and they’ve known it from the day Aguero was let go.

Thats what they’ve been trying for the past few months with Kane. Other than Kane, you’d probably say Messi was our next best bet, but we don’t know if PSG had already done the groundwork before he left Barca.

Okay this is going to sound batshit crazy, but I call Bayern, take Leroy on loan and convert him to a 9. It’s so crazy it just may work.

I disagree. We were in for Maguire, Sanchez, Van Dyke… We have a value that we put on each player and won’t spend a penny above that figure which has served us pretty well up to this point. Not paying over the odds is something to be admired and not criticised surely?
Sorry... When I said involved in, I meant those we've signed. If any other clubs come in for a player, we invariably back out, presumably to avoid entering into an auction.
If you really want the best, you have to pay what is necessary. Sometimes not doing so means you dodge a bullet.
If Pep really wanted Kane, I would imagine he won't be very impressed by the club failing to deliver.

When at City, in the box, he was standing still. If he hadn't improved the movement in his game, he would be terrible at it.
