I recon our board looked at it and thought after Kane fell through that at full strength there wasn’t anyone out there who could improve us. If we brought in say Danny Ings because he was more of a striker than any of our other players, would he actually score more than Torres, Jesus etc. The answer is probably no. Would he reduce playing time of Bernardo, Phil, Mahrez etc probably yes. So what’s the point? It’s not like other seasons when we won the league and had weak transfer windows. This time there is genuinely no one available that could improve us. We have the best players in nearly every position. I think we would have gone for a left back if the mendy thing had happened earlier, but zinch, cancelo and ake/Laporte is hardly scraping the barrel. After looking at all things considered, I still think we will/should win the league. That’d be a great achievement considering what other teams have spent.

Agents being paid by anybody involved in a transfer other than their client players should be outlawed by FIFA. Nonsensical and scandalous that these venal, ammoral parasites can end up being paid by three different parties on a single transaction
I’ve always mentioned this but it seems it’s not going to happen. I even thought FIFA had come up with something (to be implemented this year or next) to limit the money going to agents.

It really is baffling. How did it get to this point? I wish I could employ the services of an individual only for another party to pay them for me. Still don’t and never understood it.

Pimps, pure and simple. Absolute parasites

That's a good point about Foden. I have thought that too. He's the one player in our squad who could be a Lampard and get a serious amount of goals in our squad. If we have earmarked Foden for that role then fair enough but then the ITKs and reporters are a million miles off the mark, and it does seem that city made a bid of £75m plus a player to Spurs for kane.
I think foden is a natural instinctive finisher...probably better than most in the squad..he just seems to have it...like most the best goal scorers have

I know people don't want to hear about outgoings, but I think we need to reorganize the team a bit next summer.

We have too many creators. if we look at the 4 positions of wingers & attacking midfielders that our 4-3-3 system has, we have 8 starters on 4 positions - Gundo, bernardo, de bruyne, foden, grealish, sterling, mahrez, jesus. Then if you look at the striker position, it's torres and delap. That's an insane depth in one position, but considering that we have players like Palmer and McAtee, they will *never* be able to break in to such a stacked "midfield/wing" area, which as we know is very interchangable for us. I would personally look to shift one or two midfielders/wingers away and bring in a striker instead. our team would be a lot more balanced that way. It's not a criticism - this squad is very quality the way it is, and it allows us to play a successful false 9 system. we know it's gonna work. But for the sake of being able to keep everyone happy with game time, being able to integrate some of our extremely talented youth stars, and being able to sign a prolific striker, I genuinely think that it wouldn't be the worst decision in the world if next summer we sold gundogan and mahrez and brought in, say, haaland. team would look lighter in midfield but more balanced overall. we'd have bernardo, kdb, grealish and palmer in midfield and foden, sterling, jesus and sometimes torres on the wing. then haaland and delap up top with sometimes torres
