I said two months ago that I felt that as his likely destination with the contract situations of Varane and Ramos.
He has just changed his nationality to Spannish as well in terms of playing for the national team so again it would make a lot of sense for him.

Personally dont want to see him go but if he is unhappy we know Peps thoughts on players who dont want to be here!

We dont need a massive overhaul...we need one or two first team starters.....a forward and a defensive midfielder possibly......the squad is at a good age and has just smashed the premier league, won the CC and got tot he Champs league Final......its achieved a great season

Get a forward In (which we will I have zero doubt) and we are already much better off than last season as we basically played a huge part of the season without one.

Great post that Simon.

They will offer swap deals for him I reckon. Half the madrid squad are up for the chopping block.

We always seem to rest on our laurels in the transfer market when we've just won the league. I would expect one signing this summer and hopefully it's a striker
I dont think buying a 100m striker could be classed as resting on our laurels......!

Any player who publicly displays their unhappiness via interviews in the press can go for me.

Everyone knows how much I love Raz for example. But if he said what Laporte did publicly, I'd be happy to see him sold. No one is bigger than the club and anyone who speaks out of turn publicly is a disrespectful motherfucker IMO.

Would you take this for Laporte, seeing madrid are just offering two players at a time for a big signing, have to laugh one of them being Isco. But if they offered Isco and Asencio for Laporte would you take it

exactly...i was thinking back to hat Laporte said earlier in the season about playing time when I posted that....

He does have the air of smacked arse about him but he is a fantastic centre half and I wouldnt want him to go...however if we could get a load of cash for him (60-80m?) and he is unhappy then Pep will show him the door....he doesnt want player s here who dont want to be here.....

We may see some of that cash reinvested as well so it may increase our transfer activity a little beyond what we think...especially if there was someone else to leave...I have this funny feeling that PSG may go for Mahrez....no idea why but he just seems to fit there even with the forward line they have (id take Mahrez over De maria personally)

Would anyone swap Laporte for hazard? Obviously money is tight this summer. I can see a lot of players being used by clubs to keep the prices down. Injuries seem to have taken a toll tho. Not sure he was a fantastic player 18 months ago.

Isco no....

Asenio looked decent a couple of years back when he broke through but not watched him recently

Absolutely not. Neither of them are better than what we have. There's nothing in Madrid's squad I'd take. It's old.

John Stones had the look of the old John Stones at time on Saturday, we must not allow Laporte to leave at any price, it could cost us dear next season.

so things have changed abit from earlier on Ahsan? You and tolmie were hinting at a considerable investment and changes in the squad?

I didn't hint at it. I said that City want a big 9 this summer that will cost a fortune. That's not changed. I've never ever said or implied that there will be loads of players coming and going. In fact I think I've said a few times that it would be 2 maximum 3 players that would come and that would depend on who left.

This is just reactionary nonsense that I've got no interest in whatsoever. "Must not leave at any price" doesn't exist in our squad outside of Phil Foden. Everyone else is expendable if they want to go.

Laporte, Ike, and Sterling I could see realistically leaving.

Time to get rid of Mendy, even if released and Kun gone.

That's potentially 5 players who could realistically go or want to go.

If we do get a new striker, probably add Jesus to the list.

I know he's not happy but we need to be careful about looking at pushing Laporte out of the door, form can dip as quickly as it rises and Sterling is a prime example of that. We're selling Garcia and if we have a major injury in that department next season or Stones/Dias form dips we're in a bad place if Laporte has gone.

Not at all, he was shaky, not surprising with no cover in front of him.

We have to have 3 top class CB, losing Laporte would be a major loss.

Stones didn't look anything like the old Stones, and if Laporte really want to go he'll go.

Reactionary nonsense? really ?

Who do you replace Laporte with? It took two seasons to get a Kompany replacement, quality CB are few and far between.
