we could waver the sell on fee for Sancho....win win

It’s not win anything though is it?

The sell on fee for Sancho has a value and, yes, we can maybe trade it in a bid (subject to us agreeing a value with Dortmund - a value that they would agree if they thought they were having our trousers down) ) or we can leave the sell on fee until it becomes due and pay cash instead.
It isn’t a win for anyone it’s only a matter of taking what is our money out of a bank account or negotiating with Dortmund to take what is our money out of a sell on fee.

Nobody gets anything for nothing, there isn’t any free money to pluck out of the air . . and the notion that it’s a win win is daft daft.

Either that or our number one target is Harry Kane ;)
Could well be mate, however there’s no logical reason for him to be our number one target ahead of Erling other than him not being available this window, however I find that hard to believe as money talks.

Im really hoping that is the case.....its gone very quiet on Haaland....however its also gone quiet mostly on Kane accept these speculative reports on the ammount Spurs supposedly want for him (which anyone could easily take a complete random guess at if we are being honest)
Sometimes quiet is good.

Why wouldnt Dortmund be bothered....if they sell for 100m....15% sell on fee is 15m to us or that they can keep.....again thats a lot of money to clubs who are desperate due to covid...plus 120-150m for Haaland.....
Thats a minumum total of around 135m that Dormund could have off us/earn.....compared to potentially 65m (I think thats the clause that kicks in next year)....thats a potential loss of 70m - board members, share owners etc will care about that sort of loss....No way keeping Haaland for one more year gets them that back

Haaland will be sold for his full market value, how that is split between Dortmund, Haaland, Raiola and Haaland’s dad makes no difference.

Haaland’s market value will not suddenly drop because a clause saying he can be sold for a fraction of that market value kicks in, and Dortmund wouldn’t make anymore money if Haaland were sold tomorrow for £150M because Haaland and his entourage wouldn’t agree to a transfer if it gave them less of a take than they’d get next summer.

And he’d still cost his full market value if he could leave tomorrow on a free transfer, it would just be expressed as a huge signing on fee, huge agents fee, huge bung to Haaland’s dad and a massive salary. The buying club would effectively pay the full market value.

There isn’t a magic spell that makes a player suddenly available at less than the highest valuation that any club would pay for him (market value) at any given time.

Not everybody believes Haaland is the better player. Kane has done it year in year out in the toughest league in the world. It’s perfectly feasible that Kane is our top target.

Utter bollocks. So we give Sergio a huge send off and Ferna just leaves and turns the lights off?
Comedy gold lol......his contract ends in few weeks so he can sign for anyone then......even us again if we offer and he accepts.
We haven't said we aren't going to offer extension.
Does explain alot of the transfer forum when people can't even understand basics like this!

Im not sayiing that Haaland entourage would get less of a %.....But lets say for ease Haaland is sold at 100m (would be more probably) and Haalands gang take 20% of that thats still 80m Dortmund get......

If they sell at 65m due to the release clause.....and Haalands gang get 20% Dortmund only get 52m

Now from what I understand if Haaland got sold for his by out clause he would probably get a big signing on fee as well (from which ever club bought him) - but that doesnt impact on Dortmund at all.

Surely Dortmund are better off selling at 150m than they are at the buy out clause (65M?)? - they could command around thaat for him this summer but once the buy out clause kicks in if someone meets that buy out clause then they cannot try and drive the price up from that.

This this.

i hate this part of the summer with the transfer window open in 5 days
the euros is right on top of us and you can bet players will be putting themselves in the shop window
knowing one good game or goal can add millions to a transfer fee

i hope manchester city have verbal agreements in place with out targets and its just dotting the I's on a price and wages. because i have this fear that city will miss out on haaland and kane if we don't have any sort of idea.
for me haaland is the one that can be signed early doors. maybe kane will wait and see who comes in as manager at spurs and listen to his plans then makes his mind up. but that could mean a last day transfer that city don't need

but please please pep and city get a world class striker or two and give us the guns to blow teams out of the water
stop all this false 9 bollocks and asking KDB to play with his back to goal ? KDB vision to find a pass to a world class striker is what he is all bout

the big thing in the haaland deal to city could be sancho and the sell on fee

if its up to haaland and it should be his choice and nobody else ? would he turn down the chance to play for man city
after watching the champions league final he must know city are not far away from winning it. i know if i was a striker i could make a big difference next season to man city if i signed then its a no-brainer

dortmund can not afford to hang on to haaland with his old contract and sell on clause next season
so they have 2 options get haaland to sign a new contract or sell up and find a new cheap striker they can turn into a world class player

i would like to know the sancho sell of fee man city have ? i was told its 25%. if that's true then its a big one for dortmund to lose out a big chunk if they sell him ? utd are after him again this summer so will have to pay over £100million and city would get £25million

15% of any fee over £8m, the fee we received from Dortmund

The sell-on has to next to no impact on any deal we may or may not do for Haaland.

And FWIW It's nowhere near 25%.

All the Haaland chat is pointless at this stage. CL qualification basically solidifies the fact he will be at Dortmund next season.

Basically no one other than us would put 150m on the table for Haaland and let's say he's turned us down, we aren't going to do it. Dortmund can't force him to leave. That means Dortmund have no choice but to wait till next year and as it was this season, Haaland could be the difference between CL or not. Even more so if they sell Sancho, which basically nets them 40m euros+.

Unless Kane is all a smoke screen there is a reason all of the Haaland rumours have died off, not just City links. Everything full stop.

It just stinks of a public sale next summer, biggest cut to Raiola wins.
