No, I haven't. At the end of the day Sterling was the cuckoo who upset the balance of the rest of the side so his inclusion caused a domino effect. If Pep had played the proper team based on merit we wouldn't be having this discussion.
But Pep doesn't pick teams like that, he picks teams that he thinks is best suited to play using the tactics he thinks will win the particular game. He always has. He can get the tactics wrong or selection occasionally and sometimes like Saturday will be out manoeuvred.
If you want a manager that plays the best 11 the same way every week then it's a different manager you want. Not for me though because with a different manager we wouldn't be as good to watch or win as much.
As for Sterling I beleive we'll see the best of him again next season playing with a centre forward,

To be fair, we could be supplying more than half the England starting eleven at some a point in the near future!

Might not be a bad thing on many levels. There's just about enough good England players for that to be worthwhile and Brexit could mean we need more English / homegrown players.

The additional focus it would bring would be a double edged sword but the media would generally have to be more supportive. It would also help England if most of the England starting XI could play the Pep way because Southgate is clearly a fan.

Much as I like Rodri and see him as more technically gifted than Rice, it might be in everyone's best interests if Rodders went back to Spain and we took Rice from the Hammers.

James Ward-Prowse is also someone Txiki and Pep likes a lot.

As do I.

They were very impressed with him against us at the Etihad the other month.

Technically excellent, brilliant deadball delivery, become a very good defensive midfielder.

We have eyes on him and Ings for differing reasons.
What reasons TH?

In order to be fair, success at club level, doesn't necessarily translate to the International stage. Look at the Liverpool team of the late 70s...Clemence, Neil, Thompson Hughes, Keegan McDermott to name but a few, and they never won anything big internationally.
