It happens in football... Rodwell showed a bit of promise at Everton - but as per usual the local press pack get told to big them up - how many wonder kids have Everton had over the last 20 years and how many have gone on to anything special? Not too many - Rooney is the exception that proves the rule. We will never know if there was a player in there - with Rodwell because his career was blighted by injuries... I don't know the guy and maybe he's done okay financially but i bet he'd sacrifice some of what he's earned for a decent run in a decent side, it must have been tough to see pretty much your whole career pass you by like that. .

The guy has been absolutely useless for years and for some reason he keeps getting offered contracts. He also had at least one opportunity to leave Sunderland when it was clear that he wasn't going to play and they needed to get his wages off their books but he refused. Whoever offered him a deal at Sheffield United was off their head.

Always seemed the decent sort.Im pretty sure he would have chosen an injury free career given the choice.

Think he was just unlucky with injuries. Broke onto the scene as a young lad due to his physical atttibutes too. Plenty of other footballers have struggled to cope when restricted by injuries when they would otherwise have been one of the fittest guys on the pitch.

Had a decent season at Blackburn before he joined Sheffield United. The figure I quoted earlier might be unreliable, other sources say closer to 5k a week. Which is apparently what he was on at Blackburn.

A decent punt at that figure, considering it would have cost them a few mil to have brought in a non-bosman of similar quality.

The man is a fucking myth. With maybe the exception of Bale, he's never once sold a player for way above the buying club's valuation.

Ask Daren Bent, Modric, Berbatov, Walker, Keane, Erickson if he made it easy to leave. Ferguson described dealing with levy as being more painful than my hip replacement. He will not let him go cheap. At present City seem to be accepting of £100m - Levy is quoting £200 - i can see it being somewhere in the middle.

Not sure I'd want to let Jesus go. Watching the way he got stuck in when he came on in the CL final - and does every time he plays - I think there's a part for him to play even if he isn't banging the goals in all the time.

Can play either side of a three or in a two with a more traditional striker. I would hate to lose Gabby, personally. His combination of attributes is very difficult to replicate, and if we get back to creating the quantity and quality of chances we did a couple of years ago he's a 20 goal a season player across all competitions

Much more aggression and tenacity than Mahrez and Sterling too,which helps put the opposition on the back foot and doesn't allow them to remotely relax while forcing mistakes.

Agree completely but that £100 million gap is quite difference, i doubt we are talking about £5 million one way or the other.

Struggling to wrap my head around the amount of pressure City are under to sign a striker now, not the best negotiating position.

Dortmund and Spurs know their players are seen as the final piece to us winning a CL.

Makes me think we must have something pre agreed.
