Quite surprised at how many people would swap Bernardo for Joao Felix or Jack Grealish.

Personally I'd be saying not to both those deals because Grealish won't ever be as good as Bernardo, and Felix for all his grace and talent feels like a luxury player with no real defined position.

Bernardo is our Swiss army knife. Can play almost anywhere and be world class.

I am one that has discussed some logic in that swap. For clarity however, as i noted as a hypothetical rather than wishful. Wouldn't swap b.silva, myself.

At the end of the day, the club seem to be set on the squad needing a refresh. If any players even show a hint of not being happy with their roles or playing time then they’re making it easy for the club to move them on.

Not saying Bernie is one of those, just hypothetically.

Only if we have togetherness in the squad to begin with. Anyone who doesn't buy into the squad rotation, float them off down the road. Playing for Manchester City Football Club...not themselves!!!

His numbers are irrelevant for me as he brings something intangible to the midfield.

I love Bernardo and I think you're right. The stats don't do him justice. When De Bruyne was injured we looked a very good side with Bernardo running the game and Gundogan allowed to pick up little pockets of space in the box. We used Jesus as a no. 9 in the majority of those games.

When all three are fit then they can only play together if it's with one as a false 9 and with a DM in there (basically how we all thought we would lineup on Saturday).

Otherwise it's Bernardo that gets pushed out. He's not starting in a wide position ahead of the others named. Having said that, I think if Chilwell was getting tight to him, as he did Mahrez on Saturday, Bernardo would have had the guile to cope.

Would be gutted to see Bernardo go. He brings more to the team than the stats suggest and his age means I’d love him to stay for a good few more years yet

It may make sense due to his value and I can't imagine him being best pleased at the moment either!

Honestly I wouldn't mind giving Bernardo to AM for Felix.... But if it was up to me, I'd offer them Rodri back first to guage their interest. Doubt they'd go for it, but worth a shout.
