lol! same most transfer windows mate to be honest but although we only need 2-3 new recruits, they are at clubs who no doubt are demanding huge fees so is tricky i guess.
No doubt! I just enjoy posting things like that as being over dramatic! It’s all a good laugh really

They cant even sign Wijnaldum after waiting for him to be out of contract

Exactly… reduced Garcia‘s agreed terms… offered Kun a pay cut on a free, can’t agree terms with Depay on a free and now lost out on Wijnaldum on a free… they have no money for transfer fees and a wage bill that they need to cut drastically… but they are using their local media to put stories out there that they are at the top table and no doubt they are using City’s name so they can rubbish us later and say we refused to do business with them. If and it’s a very big IF - UEFA do ban them from the CL for 3 years then I genuinely think they could end up in administration- their debts are starting to overwhelm them on the basis that their income can no longer be guaranteed to increase at the rate it has over recent years.

They can’t even afford to pay their current players, most of their existing salary commitments have been deferred until 3 years or more down the line. I would wager Sergio and Garcia’s contracts will be similarly back-end loaded.
They are a raging skip fire and the collapse of their ESL plot has only made things worse. A hefty chunk of their 2025/26 wage bill will be for players who will have long since left the club. They are done

I hope Laporte stays. Stones had a good season, but little mistakes were creeping into his game again and I think Laporte on form is a better player. The Stones-Dias partnership has been excellent, but I think our best CB pairing would be Dias-Laporte over time.

We'll see how they get on in the Euro's as both should start. The season has been intense, and we then have the Euro's before we're back into it. We could do with having options for the next campaign because yet again it will test the strength of each squad and rotation will be key.

Laporte has been fobbed off by Deschamps and then switched to Spain and he might, mentally, just be in a position where he can't deal with being second best at his club side and also wants a switch. The price quoted is ludicrous though.
Yeah playing with slabhead & inferior players in front of him in general to City could see him sadly fucking up & being a scapegoat for England's inevitable failure.

He seems a confidence player so Laporte may we'll get a big chance to establish himself again next season.

It makes the fact they’re desperately trying to get Messi to renew on staggering terms even worse. He’s on a free now, could’ve been the perfect time to part ways.

My big concern this summer is we are balls deep for Kane & Grealish both English players at English clubs. If we are to get both there is no way it’s a quick & simple transfer. It will be last minute stuff which could derail the start of the season.

Spurs & villa will delay as much as possible which could mean we lose points at the start (potentially) & we may get neither really screwing us. Also they will both be shattered after euros needing long breaks to add to our other English players.

I’m hoping we have plan B as we really need a striker & midfielder to start next season. Utd, Liverpool & Chelsea will be after us from the first game.

I can already see 5/6 key city players having extended breaks missing the start of the season.

The worry is that as great a season as he has had, we’ve been here before with John, many times. Just when the penny seems to have finally dropped and his head looks sorted, the unforced brain farts and mental meltdowns start to appear again. There is no way we should even consider selling Laporte, we will need him next season for sure.

Those clubs will all have olayers at the euros, same as us. And with Southgate in charge, England could go out early. I’d be more concerned about our Portuguese contingent going deeper in the tournament

Good points
