That isnt how football works though is it?

As soon as a player wants to leave, several clubs will put in bids for him.

At that point the club will decide which offer(s) they will accept if the valuation fee is met, and then speak to the player. I don't think the Haaland transfer is as black and white as people are making out.

The Hazard transfer saga should show us that players dont see city the same way we as fans do and they are more open to options than we think they are.

Theres still a lot left to happen this season and this summer. His mind can change a 100 times in that period

I agree but I still think that is a fans opinion and not necessarily universally shared.

If Chelsea win CL this summer for example, which isn’t beyond the realms of possibility, and theyve got a new manager thats done very well since joining, a good crop of young players that he probably knows from germany, that could appear a lot more inviting than it does now.

(Yes I know Haaland is supposedly a city fan but I imagine he makes his decision based on what is best for his career not to play for the team his dad did)
