It's quiet thread 6 - all new all dancing!

Why do I feel if we sign Alves we'd end up with another Robinho, Ade, Yaya etc type signing who would appear to be patently coming for the money.

Much rather we tried to get the NDJ, Kompany, Kolarov? type signing who are the best players out of 2nd tier clubs rather than people who just come for the money from 1st tier clubs and we (currently) can't guarantee what commitment they will have.

I'd also prefer to see players who have played in leagues with UK type (or worse) weather so they aren't going to get arsey about some driving rain, snow and 0 degrees temperature.

If he comes he may surprise me but we'd have to see.

Alves is the best right back in the world for gods sake.

Some City fans need to chill out and let the club move forward.

As for the weather, DAVID SILVA ANYONE. Im just glad some of our fans are not in conrtrol of our recruitment.

Rubbish.
Maicon gets his game over alves for brazil. They play him in midfield.
Sergio Ramos is well up there too.

Plus the fact that Alves dosnt defend, brilliant going forward but when it comes to actually defending we'd be better off with boateng.

Its his attacking qualities we're in need of. The system Mancini plays is geared towards attacking fullbacks with his midfield covering when they bomb forward.

Looks good to me.

Ideally in January, best case scenario.

Out: Bridge (£5), Ade (£12), SWP(£5), RSC (£4), Jo (£5)
In: Coentrao (£20), Ruiz (£7), Dzeko (£35), Cassano (free)
Out: £31 million
In: £62 million
Net: £31 million spent but a massive upgrade

It would be the unquestionably best squad in the PL.

1) Samp is trying to nullify Cassano's contract. Not only would he be free, he's only earning 2.7 million euro per year, a measly 52,000 per week. He'd be replacing RSC and Jo, combined probably earning 170k per week at least.

2) Coentrao might command the same wage as Bridge, though he's earning far less now.

3) Dzeko would command about the same as Ade, though he's earning far less now.

4) Ruiz would command less than the man he's eventually replacing, Lescott.

First XI

-----------------Hart
Richards—Kolo---Kompany---Kolarov
-------------------De Jong--------------------
Yaya------------------------|----Coentrao
Silva--------Dzeko------- Tevez |

Second XI
-----------------Given
Boateng----Ruiz----Kompany----PabZab
------------------Barry------------------------
Vieira---------------------------|-----Milner
Johnson-------Balotelli---------Cassano |

Obviously this isn't exactly as it would go, but you get the idea. 2 super squads.

i suspect barca are trying to cash in so they can make a move for ajax right back van der wiel, so they get profit and a younger version of alves. so, why dont we just go for van der wiel????

i would agree with that.

Why do this to me Tolmie? I have no idea what the hell you go on about and my head hurts trying to find out. I knew I shouldn't have wandered into Transfer Forum... We have just beat Fulham 4-1 FFS so why am I here?!
