ITV cannot do live football. Never have been able to, Never will be able to. Poor camera angles, poor production, poor punditry poor commentators (except for a clutch in the 70s like Gerald Sinstadt, Brian Moore, Hugh Johns and pundits like MAalcolm Allison made it interesting). The highlights shows other than Kick off and The Big Match in the 70s/80s have been very poor. I once saw the Tyne tees version in the 70s and 80s and Yorkshire's. Amateurish would be a compliment to them! The current highlights shows are dreadful. You learn nothing from any of the pundits.
For years ITV has been dreadful. Tyldesley, Atkinson, Townsend, utterly, utterly dreadful. Naff sets, poor production. Lazy pundits. Lazy all over.
Talking of lazy...
The standard of pundit on the BBC has been terrible generally - how Hansen and Lawrenson got paid for that is a disgrace. They have offered no insight with their lazy punditry. Shearer is dull (but at least he gives City credit) and offers little insight too.
One or two better ones are appearing like Kevin Kilbane and Danny Murphy but he is yet another Liverpool supporter. The lack of balance and bias is the worst thing, and it has got worse.
