Look no further than one of the leagues biggest "investors" - Sky.
A company that makes documentaries and programmes to sell about certain clubs and their successes. Making them products that are dependent upon success and results. Then incredulously Sky are allowed a gaming license and still permitted all the access and relationships they have developed with VAR, the FA, Pigmol etc. (Look up Flutter Entertainment for a real cabal carve-up.) The whole thing stinks to high heaven. Even in a parallel universe where this isn't necessarily corruption (joke), the perception should never have been allowed to exist, but yep, money sure does talk. Believe me, Skybet is the No. 42 in sport today.
Toney and his ilk are small fry - now and again it suits to give people like him a slap on the wrist - "Look, we take this seriously". Of course -"bet responsibly" and "when the fun stops, stop" makes it all fit for purpose.
