Ivan Toney

This will come as no surprise then..

On The Diary of a CEO podcast, Toney revealed he was a boyhood Red, saying: “I’ve been a Liverpool fan my whole life but, from young, I’ve liked watching Arsenal and how they play.

“But yeah, I’m a Liverpool boy, a Liverpool fan at heart.”
Sounded like ' it wasn't my fault'. They are made for each other.

Look no further than one of the leagues biggest "investors" - Sky.
A company that makes documentaries and programmes to sell about certain clubs and their successes. Making them products that are dependent upon success and results. Then incredulously Sky are allowed a gaming license and still permitted all the access and relationships they have developed with VAR, the FA, Pigmol etc. (Look up Flutter Entertainment for a real cabal carve-up.) The whole thing stinks to high heaven. Even in a parallel universe where this isn't necessarily corruption (joke), the perception should never have been allowed to exist, but yep, money sure does talk. Believe me, Skybet is the No. 42 in sport today.

Toney and his ilk are small fry - now and again it suits to give people like him a slap on the wrist - "Look, we take this seriously". Of course -"bet responsibly" and "when the fun stops, stop" makes it all fit for purpose.

The whole thing is a mess. Virtually all Sky Sports pundits skip seamlessly between pundit and into an advert for Sky Bet almost unnoticeably.

Bet 365 are fine owning a football league club and running numerous books on the same football team, every time they play.

Yet if it came to light that the kitman from a National League club had a fiver on first scorer in a Premier League game while sat at home on a Sunday afternoon, the full weight of the FA would descend on him.

Having watched the interview I have to say the bloke comes across as a Thundercunt.

Does not know that he couldn’t bet on football, he also calls it a grey area. Pretty sure it is a blanket professional footballers cannot place bets on games. If I know this how does someone playing the game for a living not know it.

Says that he had bets placed by someone else so mummy and daddy didn’t find out when his post went to their house. Getting a big wiff of bullshit with that excuse.

Says he bet on himself as first goal scorer, seen people saying how is this a bad thing and that he is backing himself etc. Well let’s say Brentford are on the counter attack, he has the ball running towards goal, defender and keeper in front of him, one of his own team mates in plenty of space and playing that simple pass gives the team mate a tap in… but he has a shot himself and doesn’t score because he has £20k on him being first goal scorer. I would personally say that potentially fixing what happens during a game.

Placed bets on his own team to lose when not picked, what a team mate to have!

Sounds like a perfect fit for the dippers or rags.

Hope he put his years wages on them winning the league last year.

Presumably he is whiling away his enforced leisure by sitting back and having a few bob on the footy.
