Yes because David Faupala, Aleix Garcia, Brandon Barker, Cameron Humphries and Tosin Adarabioyo were really what was needed to secure 4th place and with it millions and millions of revenue.

FYI Denis Suarez didn't get a chance at Barca at the same age and not only is he ten times the player Byrne is but he was also performing well both in their Championship and in La Liga on loan and yet you are saying Jack Byrne would have got a chance at Barca? Jesus.

Denis Suarez was nowhere near the same level as Byrne, at City, in ability & attitude. He flitted in & out of games & was a fairly lazy lightweight. Obvioysly had ability but not greater than JB at that level.
He improved, when he moved away & played regular higher level football in Barca's reserves but imo we have had lots of more talented kids than him who will end up nowhere. He has developed later, as some of ours may do, but has the advantage of being a Spain youth player who was known over there, like Thiago.

Some of Barca's former kids, who played regularly now struggle to get in Stoke's team.

They still got games for Barca, as they deserved it Same as JB deserved a chance at City, whether he made it or not.

I think Pep had a look at him in training since he came back and made a decision on him. He will come back stronger and needs to be playing football to develop more. I am surprised no European clubs came in from Holland but they dont have the money that championship clubs have so i wouldnt be shocked if we got a couple of million for Byrne. He will get some games I wouldnt be shocked if he does well at Wigan and keep them in the league and move to a better championship club or a Dutch team within 16 months. The club done the best thing for all in this deal. Pep must have some players he wants to bring in in the summer so we will see maybe 1 to 2 new midfielders brought into the squad.

I think the problem with prospects like Jack is the amount of football they are going to need to get to the level required is never going to available here for a player who isn't truly spectacular or able to really "do a job". Similar to George Evans and Trippier before him, I think he stands a chance of becoming a player who could be useful to us, but it's going to take a hundred games of experience for him to potentially get there and he's never going to get that in the premier league, being the sort of player he is. People then say why not just keep him and loan him, but Blackburn have shown the problem with that, teams don't give a shit about developing their own young players in the Championship, yet alone other teams that they are borrowing.

If we were playing in Portugal or Spain, he'd have a season or two of second division football under his belt in the B team, then would stand a good chance of getting rotated in for games here and there if a player got injured or someone got sold, but in England the squad sizes are so large that need to use young players isn't really there. Instead he's really got to leave and go get that experience at a lower level, with a team who actually will benefit from developing him and giving him a chance.
