Jack Byrne signs permanently for Wigan

The last bit just sums up the whole debacle of this thread. Of course Marcus Rasford wouldn't get in ahead of Lukas fucking Nmchea or Brandon Barker, deary me.

No he wouldn't have got in our kids' teams ahead of them. He was behind Wilson in Utd's setup & only got in because Wilson moved up TO THE FIRST TEAM. Rashford wasn't as good as our kids by comparison, at any level. He improved when he moved to the first team. There he went up a level which Barker etc may possibly have struggled to reach. We will never know because only one team gives the academy kids a chance. If Byrne, Barker, Bryan etc had been in Utd's reserves they all would have played a decent number of first team games & would probably still be there now being assessed.

Many kids who succeed are not the obvious best, they learn to adapt to first team football & go up a level.

The fact you have no idea that happens, just shows you have no idea full stop.

Of course James Wilson was ahead of him, he was TWO YEARS older than him!! When Wilson made his first team debut Rashford was STILL IN SCHOOL!!! I cannot believe you have seriously just stated that without checking any facts.

And then you come out with that final sentence? Laughable. Just sums up the whole clueless Academy knowledge by people on this board.

I think Byrne is probably the first example of a player moving on through frustration to be honest. We may start to see a lot of this, whether we agree or not, if these youngsters (and bear in mind they're youngster who have constantly out-performed their peers, many now playing in the PL) don't feel there is a chance they'll get anything more than one 15 minute sub appearance..
hmm. sorry mate, i enjoy your posts and you're very knowledgable but you're not a fully qualified football coach are ya? if he was good enough for City then he would still be here.

I know that as I fucking watched them both at the time. If Wilson had been at City, he would still have been in the EDS waiting for a game, last season.

If you knew that then why did you state otherwise? Again another comment that you have no clue about, you do realise that Jose Pozo played a number of games for us in the same season James Wilson broke through? Or is that something else that i am telling you for the first time that makes your comment void once again.

You clearly have no fucking idea.

There were scores of comments on here about how stupid it was throwing Pozo into the first team when he was the weakest link in the EDS at the time, totally out of form. But no surprise, as Pellegrini also threw in Manu Garcia who was also struggling & ignored all the kids who were flying.

If you had a real interest rather than just trying to show off, you would remember it.

That's obviously not true. Players leave clubs all the team then come back to haunt them. The game is littered with stories like that. Are you saying managers never make mistakes? I may be wrong, most likely, but to fully dismiss a fan's opinion cos he's only a fan is a little harsh. In fact it renders football total redundant, and I presume every opinion you've ever had about anything every manager of ours has ever done in the game too by that same reasoning.

You need to make your mind up, you said this and i quote "Clearly, hardly any are going to get a chance" and now you are complaining that the wrong players are getting a chance. Which one is it? Along with your fountain of knowledge over Rashford and Wilson which has clearly been debunked and i am the one who clearly has no idea.

Ha! Goodnight my friend!

Out of interest, which players have come back to haunt them when they have been released? (please don't say Pogba as an example)
