Jack Grealish - Everton on loan

On the left wing, same position he has played his entire career. Aston villa played him on the left, we played him on the left, England played him on the left, Everton will play him on the left too.
He was left of three attacking mids at Villa. Myth that he was a winger

based on this first game, Everton will have a miserable season. deservedly beaten by a shit Leeds. if Grealish wants a chance for England at the WC he needs to pull off an incredible season with these teammates but this Everton probably will not win more than 11/12 games and even that will not be easy. but if they can get about 8-10 draws as well thats enough to stay up.
eventually they get rid of Moyes (again!) and bring someone who fails so they can go back to Moyes in 2 years time.

Jack better find some fom quick if he wants to stay at Everton.
He'll be fine. We didn't pay £100m for someone with no talent.

He just didn't suit Pep's possession_at_all_costs philosophy. Stick him in the middle and let him run at defenders and he will shine. I expect him to shine at Everton tbh.

Repeat middle enough times and i suppose you start to believe it.
All of Jacks trophy wins he was playing wide.

Everton just didn’t look up to speed last night. Loads of teams were like that over the weekend.

If they can get Grealish, Dewsbury-Hall and McNeil playing together, they should be alright. McNeil is underrated, he always had good chances created figures:

Here’s Foden, for comparison:

Sicknote Brainthewaite is injured again but if they can get him back fit they’ll be better at the back n’all. And as erratic as Pickford is, he does actually save then a good number of points as he has the odd worldy every few months.

They really haven’t got anyone decent up front though, but outside City with Haaland and Forest with Wood (and maybe now Liverpool with Etikite and whoever ends up with Isak out of them and Newcastle), who really has?

I guess moyes is doing the same. He was always a left wing. Who started this „he is a 10“ in here?
Where has this Pep ruined Jack shite come from. The reason Jack is at Everton is because he isn't quite good enough and didn't really believe he was good enough to play for City himself.

OK, play him wide. I don't care. Just let him run at people rather than just recycle it backwards for 90 minutes.
That's what he did last night he passed the ball backwards nearly every time he got it. It weird that the likes of Doku and Savio don't do that. Jack has got ability he just needs to believe in his self more.

Good luck Jack. Pep played you out of position for your entire time here and you didn't complain. Have a feeling he will help Everton take a lot of points off the top teams.
Seemed to play in same area last night and had couple of good touches in his limited time. Everton showed absolutely nothing going forward and grealish didn’t look like he had any spark to offer. One game but I’d be at least bored with watching that garbage and a little worried for the rest of the season.

My take on Jack is he was coached to do a job at City, did it to almost perfection when he was a regular the treble season
Put him in any one else’s team that is half decent and let him express himself and give him a freer role I’m sure he’d deliver so for me should have gone to a team looking to move on up a bit more an ideal fit would have been Newcastle possibly Chelsea even go back to Villa
Stick him in a bang average team like Everton or the rags and he’d flatter to deceive a bit like when he was at Villa lots of possession drawing lots of fouls running around all over the pitch team mates looking for him all the time as they only believe he had any ability but professionally ends up totally pissed off and not a sniff of any success
So I ask why has he picked Everton … clearly there are still problems as far as I’m concerned

So the left wing then?

Nobody has ever prevented grealish from running at people other than Grealish himself. Pep has repeatedly said he gives attackers freedom to do what they want, players have said the same and other players playing in the same or similar positions have regularly displayed a desire to run at people. The idea pep specifically instructed Grealish, and only grealish, not to do that has always and will always be complete lunacy.

True, and all Jack did in his cameo last night was get the ball, slow play down, and either pass backwards or cut inside and get a foul. He's not got the confidence to take a RB on.

I didn't say it was only Jack.

"Pep ruined Jack" comes from people who refuse to believe we overpaid for him just because we continued to win titles while he was here. Sixty or seventy million on someone else, or 100 million on two players could have led to us winning the treble and following it up with more than one trophy in two seasons.
He was here in our most successful season though, so let's just say thanks very much and good luck for the future.
