I don't like what we are doing here. If there is a genuine reason he can't be part of the squad we should come out and say so. If we are isolating purely because we want rid when he hasn't done anything wrong it's a poor reflection on us and how we treat a human being.
Lets wait and see what happens when everyone else is back

Depends on the reasoning. Perception of it is similar to a kid being sent to isolation but Its not neccesarily a punishment to be made to train alone.

His future lies elsewhere, he will just want to get fit at this stage, the tactical sessions the coaching staff will do in pre-season are of no value to a player that wont be used so it's in his interests to train separately and work on what he needs to get a move away.

If we're openly telling the public "he's training alone" that means there's absolutely no way back for him. Teams wanting to buy him will then know this - they're going to offer us fuck all for him.

We'll likely already get a low fee for him, we need to be doing everything we can to make him an attractive prospect for other clubs

It never says he can’t be part of the squad. He just joined first because he was on holiday first.

If clubs don't know what Jack is capable of they're not worth bothering about. Him training alone reflects a player who had finished his season in May and so would be restarting his pre-season the same time as every other player who did the same. It actually reflects well on Jack who is showing professionalism with the willingness to get back up to speed.

If there is an issue why on earth would the club publicise it, we are trying to move him on.

We aren't publicly saying that though? He's reporting back for pre-season as normal for anybody who didnt go to the cwc, him being the only fit player in the first team squad not to go is the reason he'll be training alone for the next few weeks.

As for clubs knowing he isnt wanted, they'd have known that a long time ago but him not going to the cwc confirmed that beyond any doubt if there was any.

The only way he makes himself a more attractive prospect right now is by being fit and lower his wage demands.

How do you come to that conclusion of the official statement.

Why ?
He didn't go on the tour, so why should he not come back along with the others that didn't go on tour.
I dont think it will be a problem for Jack.
Fair enough effectively barring him from next weeks open training session , on reflection a good idea as some kids, parents could still splash £80 for a shirt with his name on.

I think its clear , although as some will jump on not actually 100% confirmed. Jack will not be involved in any match squads or training sessions with the first team, his omission from the CWC for no obvious reason looking at who else went and their time on the pitch somewhat support this. Seemingly we have ostracised him because he no longer fits into our plans and we want rid , seems very against our usual way of treating players who haven't actively come out and done a Cancelo on us. Very poor behaviour from the club if it does indeed play out like this. We have spent the summer actively marketing players like Stones, Akanji, Ake, Ect but all are allowed to continue as per normal yet Jack is treated differently.

I like Jack and hope he stays. Clearly, he needs to come back to train before the others, and as a professional, I'd expect him to train like a trojan, so as to be fit and raring to go either for City or for any new club he goes to. That's what any right minded professional would do. He's got a good 5 years ahead of him - with or without us.
