Not how it works You are forgetting agents, things are sorted with the player before the buying club even makes a bidMy take on the situation is this.
There is no release clause, why do I say this, well if there was then City would just bid that amount and jack would leave as the villa couldnt do anything about it, plus numerous times since he signed his new contract Deam Smith has been asked if there's 1 and each time said there isn't, so you would expect the manager to know more than some random journalist/attention seeking so called ITK.
Now if there's no release cause then maybe City have bid £100 million, which is rumoured to be the same amount they bid for Kane which was reported to be declined.
Now just an idea and maybe worth a debate, but maybe City bid for Kane which was rejected, as I'd say a striker is more important than another midfielder.
They then have switched there attention to Grealish and bid £100 million to test the waters (if that is the rumoured amount) but to also put press on Spurs and Levy.
Then you get to today and its everywhere that Kane has gone missing and this is a couple of days after the supposed Grealish bid went in, and Kane has seen this and thinks his chance of moving is disappearing and why he's gone missing to put more pressure on Spurs/Levy to get his move he thinks he had agreed to with Levy.
To me this seems more realistic, as I just don't and have never paid attention to ITK bollocks, as most are just guessing.
If you look at villa since the new owners come in very little to nothing has been leaked and I think City are the same very little gets leaked.
Both teams are owned by billionaires and you don't get that amount of money by washing your business in public, I believe both clubs/owners/CEO'S wouldn't allow it, especially if we're talking about a £100 million pound deal.
Do I think grealish will leave, I honestly don't know, the no news coming out from villa direct about a bid received or rejected means nothing, if a player is not for sale and doesn't force the move a club doesn't need to broadcast it, it's there business and no one else's.
If he goes then good look to him and I think City are getting a real talent that is getting better and better, and will continue to IMHO.
Anyway sorry for rattling on and let's hope either way this is settled 1 way or the other soon.
The bid figure quoted indicates a buyout clause as I don’t believe it would have been the first bid figure if there wasn’t one and Villa would have rejected it The delay, things don’t happen instantly, will be Jack negotiating his release from Villa
