Jack Grealish

Some people need to chill. Pep Guardiola, Kevin De Bruyne, Champions League Football, Trophies. £100m bid. There’s absolutely no way Grealish is turning this move down.

Villa fans remain delusional that signing Leon Bailey and James Ward Prowse are somehow going to convince him to stay. They genuinely wouldn’t even get on our bench.

You are right; there’s no way a footballer looking to be the best he can be, would turn down a move to play for a team at the very top of the sport. Unfortunately, Grealish gives me the impression that he only really cares about himself and not the team. He seems happy to be at a place where his misdemeanours (too frequently) get overlooked - remember him crashing his car in lockdown ‘allegedly’ pissed-up?
Of course, people can change and maybe he’s realised he might regret not giving his career the best go possible.
I was surprised to hear that we were in for him in the first place given that we put great emphasis on a player’s character as well as his skill set. But as Walker has shown, you can still be ‘a bit of a lad’ and a good professional.

My twopenneth guess is that he’ll bottle the move and stay at Villa then join the rags next year where he can follow in the footsteps of a long line of flawed twats who get idolised by the massed morons for putting in a performance every so often. Grealish is at a crossroads in his life and everything previous to this suggests he’ll take the easy path.

Villa fans will be feeling exactly the same - silence means he's leaving or silence means he's going. Nobody has a clue so speculation is rife.
If he was staying it would be well known by now and as a club we would be on to target b, we appear not to be, so chill out and relax.

40 points by April and we will be safe, have the faith

To be fair to a couple of people on here they obviously know a fair bit more than me. When Kane and Grealish were both mentioned back in January, I thought there was no way they were our targets, Still thought that back in May. I was obviously wrong, and they were right.
I‘m pretty sure he means no one has a clue as to Jack’s current state of mind, and whether this is going to happen or not.

I am happy with what we have. A signing is a bonus but we are not exactly short!

Joking apart we can't be complacent, we need to improve, a striker is vital.

Grealish not for me, but we must sign a high class striker this summer.

I think one of the earlier posters got it spot on, if he was staying at Villa yesterday, they would have been quick to put the news out. He had a meeting and the fact nothing was announced is a good thing. He may or may not join us but the silence is golden. They would have put an end to the whole saga there and then surely.
