City view: it's done, heirarchy just structuring the details of payment with our board - player happy and relaxed doing some light training ahead of the move - medical by weekend or even Monday morning.

Villa view: they've turned it around. He's happy where he is, the signings they've made, and he's maybe thought one more year .
2nd one don't agree - why would you hang around for 1 more year? plus the players that have been brought in (or to be brought in) are funded by the Grealish sale is more plausible.

One more year for what, they won't win anything, he'd have to go through it all again. City and Pep won't be there for him.

Ha, of course you won't agree. The 2nd one means we don't sign the player.

Grealish knows what's happening. Until then, as proved in the post you quoted, everything is pretty much guesswork and what people want to hear from their respective sides.

They were linked to 3 players again today.

JWP, Tammy Abraham, and Tuanzebe, getting all would cost around £80-90m. And that's after signing Bailey. It's obvious who's taking the fall so these are signed.

This is not me in any way defending the RSC signing but I'm sure there are cases teams buying injured players, the object of the medical is simply to cover anything that isn't already known. Which is why City where able to sign Asa Hartford and Leeds pulled out at the last minute.
Asa's proposed transfer to Leeds collapsed due to his "heart condition" nearly 3 years before we bought him.

According to Sam, the hold up isn't on City or Grealish's end. So what reason would Villa have to delay the agreement? Bring in new signings? Try to convince him more to stay?

why would villa ask him to stay for 1 more year who realistically will bid £100m for him

This is my biggest bugbear with Sam.

Nothing he ever posts is obvious, he constantly ends up being taken to task on Twitter to explain what he means which is pretty poor as a professional writer.
i've never rated the guy to be honest, talks in fucking riddles - I don't think ITK's exist.

I just can't see Grealish being the kind of person to be happy sitting around waiting for a 'project' to take off whilst his mates are turning up to England training with various winners medals and having played with some of the best players in the world (including the man he adores). What if he stays and then City win the league again and possibly even Europe? I don't see him being someone that would want to risk missing out on that. Also, realistically, how far can this Villa 'project' go these days with FFP always lurking? I'm fully confident that he wants it and we're ready to make it happen once the green light has been given on the finer details. I might be being too positive on this with my blue-tinted glasses on, and in an hour I'll probably be convinced we've blown it again, but I'm sure we've got this all in hand.

Totally agree and still confident we got this.
