Thought the 17 squad player were foreign spots
No, we are allowed 21 non club trained /U21 players. At least 4 must be association trained, but anything over the 4 eats into the 17 whether foreign or not. Only club trained players can make the squad up to 25, or under 21s.

Is that champions league or premiership

Both the same regards Grealish, as far as I remember the only difference between the two is the qualification period for U21s to qualify for not counting in the 21 Cant remember off hand the difference though.
Edit
As far as I can see we are at 21, Carson may leave and free a space, but would we bring in another keeper?other than that we are at one out one in, Aguero we know is going so guess a striker comes in.
Fernandinho we don’t know.

Each season the Premier League lists the squads for each of its clubs for the season on 1 September (after the summer transfer window closes). Each club is able to list up to 17 senior players that are not English or Welsh and did not spend a significant period in an English or Welsh academy, plus any number of homegrown players up to a maximum squad size of 25, plus an unlimited number of academy and under-21 players.

Currently, to be classified as homegrown one must be on an English team for at least three years before the age of twenty-one.

Each squad contains no more than 17 players who do not fulfil the "Home Grown Player" (HGP) criteria.

The rest of the squad, up to a total of 25 players, must be "Home Grown".

Nothing to do with being English or Welsh.

I suggested Westwood or Hart to replace Carson on another thread. The 25 man squad must contain 3 keepers.

Hart?
Blimey crikey, I can understand feeling sympathetic towards him but he had a chance to prove himself here and nosedived, as he has at every club since..
I can see him ending up at Derby with his best mate Wayne Rooney :-)

Eddie, Steffen and we can name one of the U23s as the 3rd keeper.
That's the tricky thing isn't it. Not sure banazu has been here long enough to count as club trained and to be honest I think him and Trafford would benefit from 1st team footie next season. Plus not sure how the eds would feel with their first choice keeper missing a large amount of games as he will be in most travelling squads. If super Joe will accept the role and reduced wages I would welcome him back he could realistically be our 3rd choice on good wages for the next 5+ years.

Yeah, 3rd choice goalie must be the weirdest position to fill for both sides.

I think the windup side wouldn't be a problem. He's been fouled 20 more times in the PL this year than the player in 2nd and I don't remember seeing him retaliate ever.

The intensity side could be a question, but even if it doesn't come naturally I'd have thought it could be worked on
I'm not his biggest fan but as you say, for a natural gobshite you can't fault his composure on the pitch...and I'm sure teams have tried winding him up.
As for intensity, can't see a problem, he is intense every game carrying Villa, staying there will burn him out in couple of seasons, I think he'd play better not carrying the burden of the whole team on his shoulders.
