Sad thing about all this "big club" crap is that Villa's success was mostly achieved in the late 1800's is being compared to City in the 2000's. Over100 years since Aston Villa enjoyed their period of success apart from the odd aberration years ago. Sunderland, Huddersfield, Everton and others have a similar heritage.

What stinks is the clinging on to the entitlement to believe they are bigger and have achieved above City, easy to compare the facts. No wonder Birmingham City fans hate them.

The main post war claim to Aston Villa being a top English club is hosting FA cup final semi-finals. Yes they did win Div 1 and the CL except they were not the competitions we now see. Their Villa Park ground is now seen as an anachronistic, low capacity, old school stadium.

I'd be very curious to know what Carragher suggests. If Kane feels in all good faith that he has a gentleman's agreement — and he can't just be pulling that out of thin air, there must have been conversations between him and his chairman in the past — and the other party is behaving like no gentleman (and he is effectively pricing him out of a move by setting a fee that no-one in their right mind would pay), then as long as Harry carries on behaving, himself, like a gentleman, then he's helping Levy to screw him over.
If Levy won't listen to reason, what power does Kane have other than to withdraw his labour?
