I don't believe that but if it was true then fcuk Grealish.
I hate it when players down tools when they don't get their own way.
you don’t want Grealish though so you will say that

When he does sign the Collymore meltdown will be spectacular
Even if they had a gentleman's agreement/informal clause and not an iron clad contractual one, Villa's new owners aren't going to throw away all their good will they've built up since coming in over £15m or so.
Grealish is the club captain who stuck with his boyhood club through a terrible period in their history and lead them back to the PL and the good times. The Villa fans adore him for sticking with them when they went down.
If the club turn around and say we're not honouring a gentleman's agreement of £80m, the fans aren't going to side with the owners, they're going to say "fair enough he stuck by us, now it's time to let him go and book an enormous fee at the same time".
Nah, i always say that, not just about Grealish.you don’t want Grealish though so you will say that
I know nothing about contract law, but seems a bit strange that either party can pick and choose which clauses to honour. Is it though?
Do you know that for sure?
I don't, hence the honest question.
I've heard it is not, I've seen it not get enforced, with Suarez, but also get that he himself might have chosen to stay instead of going to arsenal on a promise he would be allowed to move to a club like Barcelona if they came for him.

Any player that downs tools is a cnut, that even goes for players at Utd
I'm not a lawyer but I do have dealings with some contract law and as long as the clause doesn't go against some other aspect of the law and both parties enter into it freely then it should be enforceable. However I don't know if buy-out clauses could be argued to contravene employment law in some way (restriction of trade or something). I'm sure a hot-shot lawyer acting for a PL club could probably find a way to shoot it down.I know nothing about contract law, but seems a bit strange that either party can pick and choose which clauses to honour.
"I know your contract says £150k per week but we're only going to give you £10k"
"I know my contract says I'll stay for 5 years, but I've had a better offer so I'm off"
You’ve latched onto this :-)Oh for fu, can't you stay until the window closes!?
