There is an element of our support base that is becoming entitled, that is the issue I have.

Maybe so, most likely even, and you'd be right to react to it. I don't think the original point necessarily was, at least not deliberately. The more the discussion goes on about it, the more subsequent comments will start to appear so though.

Just my take on it. Anyway, I myself am now adding to it, so I'll bow out and go back to this random guy's random countdown.

There are idiots at all clubs.

But this is my club and we are starting to get a lot of our fans who are becoming very entitled and arrogant, the very same attitude we destroy the rags about.

The sort of fans who think the likes of Edison, Walker, Rodri, Gundo and Jesus are crap and should be dumped.

The sort of fans that think Spurs and Villa should let us have their best players because it's not right that those players can't win titles.
I think what you are finding is the new breed of fans we've attracted since the takeover and since we started winning things.
I'm 47 and have followed us for nearly 40 years, that doesn't give me any advantage over any other fan nor is a badge of honour but what I will say is I'm old skool in my views, I love the club whether we're top of the league or bottom of it, what I have found is that these new fans only know winning and that gives them problems if we lose.
Match day threads on here are hilarious, pep out and sack the board if we draw or don't win.
It's those fans who think we should sign x,y and z and act like spoilt brats if we don't. Sadly successful teams get the hangers on-ers who would disappear in a heartbeat if we stopped winning things and that applies to many many posters on here.

Totally agree and that's why I said earlier about not forgetting where we came from and the journey we had.

As said we are becoming what we always hated in the rags and scousers, entitled.

That's true, but don't think it applies to this point.

Of course fans outside of the UK have heard of Aston Villa. The Premier League has a global audience and look at their history of being European Champions too. Let's not get into this "who's the bigger club" or City were unheard of before the takeover etc. Both are big Clubs with history over many years but at this moment in time, the only thing I would say without sounding arrogant is that City can provide a platform for Grealish to win trophies and although Villa are doing well, the career of a professional footballer is short and Grealish would need a move to win silverware.

Very nicely put

As it stands over the next 4 or 5 years, he might win 1 or 2 cups but we can offer him regular CL football and the opportunity to challenge for every major trophy every season

Villa might get to that point eventually but he doesn't want to fall into the Harry Kane trap and wait too long for something to happen that just might never happen

The sad thing is that as us old boys pass away there will be a stronger Raggish element of entitlement. I have taught my boys not to be like this, understand the history, and hopefully they will pass the message on to their kids.
Whoever we buy, there will be ill feeling towards our club, but comments about the selling club being small, never win anything are unfair. Having said that, I do dislike Spurs after 81 and Villa after Wembley. Will not lose sleep over their comments, but equally will not go out of my way to belittle them.

nobody here has said villa is small club.

we have just stated that villa are not a huge club. Which is fact, they are nothing when compared to juventus, United, madrid etc who are all huge clubs!
