Jack Grealish

The most disappointing part of the game for me was that as soon as we got our nose in front, we went to 5 at the back and took off an attacking SUBSTITUTE!

It immediately put us on the back foot and allowed Denmark to come onto us.

Then, when we did get forward AT ALL, we wandered into the corners (FOR THE LAST 10 MINS!!!) when one more goal would have ended the tie as a competition.

Instead, we were one dead ball away from a goal scoring opportunity!

Pep would have been trying to make that game 4-1, not hang on for dear life after scoring a dubious PK rebound in the second period of Extra Time.

Smacks of a distinct lack of confidence and I’m sure the Italians will smell it on Sunday!
Exactly Italy will professionalise us out of the game.

Bobby v Gareth, if a mental boxing match would be stopped by round 2.

Nor is it Southgate FC.

Both at the World Cup and here, he has got results against mediocre teams. As to great team spirit, all winning teams have that. Not sure if Grealish and others feel the same way. But, I guess it's better to be a lucky manager than a good one.
What the other teams got to do with anything?

We won the title last season, in my opinion it was a poor premiership, but we are champions, end of story.

All players/managers need luck, Southgate has been very lucky but good luck to him.

I don't get international football, but I don't get the hate to Southgate, he has produced a team, a team that fights like a domestic side, in my lifetime that's the first time I have seen an England team fighting as one.

For that he deserves recognition and respect.

Agreed, but home advantage and the crowd will make it very even.

Mixed feelings on Sunday, love Mancini and what he did for us, and he has done a wonderful job with Italy.

denmark were down to 10 men in extra time, i don't mind going 5 at the back, but leave grealish on t,ake kane off and move raheem up top, raheem for the counter , foden and grealish dropping deep and wide, and sending balls over the danes defence for raheem to chase.saying that kane is pretty good in the air defensively
Said exactly that when he took grealish off. But maybe leaving Kane on, was a cautious moment had it got to pens

"Hanging on for dear life" is a massive exaggeration.

Denmark had 15 minutes to try and reach a major final, and yet they hardly had a touch in England's defensive third.

Sure - England *might* have got a goal, but was trying for three really the best idea? Despite dominating, and having 20 shots, it took an own goal and a rebounded penalty to beat Schmeichel in the first 105 minutes of play.

With 15 minutes left, Pep would have expected the team to take control and pass the opposition into submission - something England pretty much did - he'd be furious if someone tried a risky attack with five minutes to go, and we got caught on the break.

Southgate shouldn't of took Grealish off if he wasn't injured.
But the right decision was surely to close the game out and win.
We didn't need to score a third goal
