Jack Rodwell is the word from former manager

Surely this is a replacement for Barry, which I'm guessing means Barry's injury is more serious than City are currentley letting on.

Also gives us a chance of sending Razak on loan for 6 months to get some more games under his belt.

He is a very different type of player to De Jong, so can't really see the linke some people have been making with this signing and De Jong's lack of contract progress.

Big, big question marks around his injury problems... fingers crossed that hopefully Rodwell can become the player Michael Johnson should have become for us, and not the player Michael Johnson unfortunatly became!

Or because Barry is 31

Since Viera retired Mancini has thougth we were one person light in centre midfied, hence Hargreaves and then Piazzaro coming in.

With Barry turning 32 this year and NDJ in the last year of his contract this seems like a good signing.

no pressure on Rodwell, we can ease him into the team and progress and mould him into the player we want. He'l'l prob get 20 appearances inc subs in all comps and then take a more prominent role next season.

Im happy
