He's always been in centre midfield when we've lost to Everton, and everyone knows thats been quite a lot over recent years. He's caught my eye in the displays he shown against us, I could see him having a great career somewhere, but not at City. We dont need him.
guys, I have to disagree on Rodwell. IMO he is not at the best club to progress him, he certainly has a talent but MOyes plays him in so many different positions for Everton (CB, RB, midfield) that he needs to find his place / position and focus on that.
I think he is a year or two away from what we ideally need in the SQUAD (not first XI) but he would be aplayer I would like to see added.

We should be in for this lad now, his price would have come down over the past season. He has all the key attributes to be a very good player, for me his development has stalled at Everton.
Get him and mould him in to a better player, similar to what we have done with Kompany. £15-£18mil would be fair price imho.
Piss Moyes off as well, if he's forced to sell.

Decent young player but seems to have somewhat stagnated in the last 18 months? Maybe it's just playing for thatbprick motes that has slowed his development abit.
any young English player eg Henderson gets the hype.
We need 2/3 players to take us on a bit. Does Rodwell fall into that category? I am sure he's a good player, but not seen anything which makes him stand out. You'd never dream of naming him as one of top 10 players in the League, but that's what we're after now.

Maybe he has had a lean spell recently, but I believe he has the class to reach the top.

He might have (a big 'might') - but we need 'already-are' players now. Leave him to the lower/nursery clubs (Everton,Villa,spurs etc) to bring him on for a while, as we can always go back for him.
