I think at that time we were unable to attract the very best talent due in part to years in the wilderness and our incredible journey was only just starting. I have no issues with any of those players it’s a short career etc

I think de Rossi,Van Persie and hazard where the ones that he wanted.
The mighty Maicon was the icing on the cake for our transfers that summer.
 
we did buy Sinclair and Rodwell because both were English and had potential, I had high hopes for Rodwell as he was a quality player and would have been an England captain but for injuries ` that was the gamble` it should be noted that we lost £ 6 million on the pair + unavailability similar to Delph,
It should also noted that after Rodwell left City he was hounded by the gutter press who wanted him to bad mouth us and blame us for his injuries, he refused and thanked City for their help support and medical attention
