I am just waiting for the first MP, likely to be a right wing Tory, to plead in Parliament for a rise in MPs income plus an increase in expenses. The excuse will be that to attract the right calibre of politician, the salary has to be attractive. Rarely does a Parliamentary term pass without such an appeal. Funny really, whenever there is an election there is always quite a selection of willing applicants on the ballot paper.
