Very common now for players in every age category to kick up a storm of different sorts in the lead up to contract negotiations.

Why are some of you instantly leaping to the conclusion that he just wants more money? As has been stated, we've offered to pay him a record wage for a 17 year old. Maybe he does miss London, who can blame him? Maybe he just wants a chance of getting first team minutes, who came blame him for that either?

There's a shit load of reasons why he might want to leave so I don't get why some have to trot out the greed card whenever a promising player wants to leave us; one of the richest clubs in the world who has a tendency to overpay players.

I think the reason why money is mentioned so frequently is due to the ever increasing influence of agents

It's 100% game time, in Jadon's mind, he is one the most promising youngsters in the world, just being crowned European U-17 Golden Player. Currently, he sees Sane, Sterling, Jesus and B. Silva in front of him. He isn't going to get the game time at City that he will get at other clubs in the coming seasons. I don't blame him for wanting to leave, we have spent a lot of money on young wingers in the past 2 windows. Maybe if he becomes world class, the club will understand that you need a pathway for exceptionally talented players coming through (By that I don't mean don't buy anyone in their position, it just means don't buy 4 wingers who are only a couple of years older than him). Sometimes you have to lose something to understand what you truly have.

The only person with any actual inside knowledge says it's homesickness not gametime.

Why continue pretending it's what you want it to be (game time, City's fault), and not homesickness?

Haha what a load of bullshit game time for a 17 name 1 team in the premier who gives consistent game time to a 17 year old!! Oh you cant thats why you talking crap and taking the piss.

Homesickness defo. There's an element of game time too i think, but i think he's just a very unsettled lad in general at the moment. Defo had his head turned i think.

Oh well.

Not much the club can do, he's been treated like royalty, promoted through the ranks as fast as possible and promised the world.

Playin wise There seems a pretty straight line to the first team to me, as Agüero will be gone in 2 years and Sanchez (if he comes) probably gone in 3, so forward spots would open up as he approaches 19/20 and could expect to break through. Guardiola's taken a massive interest in him as well, first team training at 16 and preseason tour at 17 is ridiculous so...if that's not enough I guess he'll go.

And we can't change the location of the club so if he's homesick the same applies.

Would be a massive shame if he left but probably makes things easier for Brahim and Foden.

Great player but if he can't handle being an adult than whatever. The amount of money being offered I'd play in fucking Afghanistan for a quarter of what he would.

He just turned 17 so unless your also a teenager what you would do is pointless. He isn't even an adult.

Also, he's going to make alot of money wherever he goes...

Indeed. Hopefully it'll be sorted. He's only young after all and we all get confused at times! I don't think we'll pander to him for what it's worth.

I can never understand these types of situations. It's so obvious. Hire a premium escort to dress up as an innocent angel and set it up so he accidentally bumps in to her ...one thing leads to another and he falls for her sweet charms and unbelievable orofficial skills. Only complication is that she needs to have a sick mother so she can't leave Manchester.

It's like Txiki and Ferran have never seen True Romance.

We might not have another superstar winger in the academy in the near future but there are plenty in other areas coming up anyway. Confident he'll sign a new deal after the US tour but these kids have to be committed to the cause to 100%, which the likes of Foden most certainly will be.

If he leaves it could make the push for Mbappé/Dembélé even more serious next summer.

Even if we let him go, I reckon he will be back with us in a few years. He is genuinely the most talented English player on the ball since Wilshere broke through at Arsenal. That is assuming he develops to his potential. Just hope it doesn't turn into Ravel Morrison type situation for Sancho if he does go back to London.
