Jadon Sancho

Not really mate. Over 70m of that 100m have already been recouped from academy players with more to come from add-ons.
It's nice to be romantic, I also want players to breakthrough but I'm also very happy with our business model.

If you think the academy is a cash generating operation then it's not operating anywhere near it's potential.

5 league starts last season took Zinchenko's value from £2m to £18m bids coming in. If the club had given some of the players we'd sold/released a couple of games each, we'd have brought in 3x as much.

Another Bundesliga wonderkid getting attention - Javairo Dilrosun. We let him go for roughly £100k, now he's getting similar hype to Reiss Nelson, has scored 2 and assisted 3 goals in his first 7 games.

If he'd got a few games for us? We'd have sold him for 5-10m. Bersant Celina let go for £3m is a quality player, and would have gone for much, much more if he'd got more than 19 minutes in a city shirt.

Play kids more and we'd get far more money for them when they leave, we might even get some who take their chance, and kids like Sancho wouldn't feel like they have to leave to advance their careers.

As said, it's done now, he's gone, and whether he comes back or not, it's cost us a huge amount of money. Hopefully the club will not let it happen again, because the idea some are trying to pedal that this was unavoidable is grade A bollocks.

Is the correct answer. How we laugh at the Rags when one of their youth team players is hyped to excess only to end up at Sunderland.

at last someone with a bit of business sense. It doesn't matter if we miss out on a player for x amount of cash we have buy back clauses and sell on fees so it's all good from our pint of view. In fact we should hope he does well

I already addressed your points you ain't for turning so it's pointless debating. Chill out a little.

You didn't address anything.

For what it's worth, I suspect the club know full well they have fallen miles short on the academy front. Khaldoon has said he wants academy players in the first team and name dropped kids predicted to be the first off the production line for 6 years now - and yet as far as I can recall, there's been 2 league starts from an academy player since. Jose Pozo in 2014 & Rekik in 2012 - which doesn't really sound like what the chairman was hoping for in all those End of Season interviews.

It hasn't cost us as we secured 8m.You are suggesting we could have earnt a hell of alot more had he been selected to play in our first team.

Unfortunately, unlike Foden,he wasnt prepared to show the patience and instead threw his toys out the pram and demanded to leave.

Which other kids do you suggest we start playing ahead of those that won us the league?

What a load of bollocks. There's no "ahead of" there's "alongside".

We played 57 games last season, that's 798 possible appearances, and I don't believe for one minute you sincerely believe another half a dozen of those couldn't have gone to academy players.

United never had a problem giving their kids (who were mostly shit btw post-1993ish) chances on their way to 32-odd bits of silverware in 20 years. Barcelona never had a problem giving seriously shite players like Jeffren Suarez 30+ games while they were twatting everyone like we are now.

What exactly didn't I address apart from your hypothetical scenarios? Your argument is based on ifs and maybes.
The facts are the academy is supplementing our revenue quite nicely, Foden is proving there is a gateway to the first team squad if patient.
