Jadon Sancho

The mistake came before Pep even arrived, by creating an environment where it became almost impossible for most kids, no matter how well they played at their own level, to get even 5 mins in our first team.

We had about 3 team's worth, none of whom would have let us down, even if they never played more than 5 mins each. And about ten more who could have played at a pinch.

Recently, we have regularly played a young, slow, centre mid at fullback.

We had 20 players who could have played, in the right games, without being 'found out' & would have given us a rep as a place to stay, if you want to get exposure.

Some of us, predicted this, years earlier.
Absolute bollocks post

He was 17 and wanted assurances pf game time. He went on strike - a fully fledged prima donna. We are debatably the BEST TEAM in Europe and have some of the world's best young talent already.

Not our mistake and people who only accept the blatant media biased BS need to get real. All major companies lose good employees every so often, as the decision rests with the individual. Sancho made his choice (at 17) and FODEN has made his.
I think those who blame City are sully. But it's clear Sancho made the right decision for his career. As much as I hate to say it, staying for any youth player is against their interest.

We are simply too talented. Young players need game time to be good enough to displace our starters. If I were the Dad of a very talented youth player, Once my kid is 17 we are looking for a club where he can be a starter.

Anything less at that age is detrimental.

If we show that kids will get at least a chance, then many will stay for a time, because City is one of the best places any player , of any age, could be & it's a good 'shop window' also.
Then, of course, they have to start to become playing regulars or they are indeed missing valuable development time. So there has to come a moment when they move on, for their own sake, if they don't make it as a City regular. Diaz is in that position. He needs to play, so he'll probably go.

But we have been losing players well before that moment arises, because they think (rightly or wrongly) that they have more chance of developing elsewhere. And that comes about by them watching what happens at City & evaluating it. If scores of players from previous generations, were completely ignored without even getting 5 mins of Premier League football, when some had turned in exceptional performances in their age group, then why would the next generation of City players assume they will get a chance ? Obviously, they will be looking at their options & several, who we wanted to keep, walked out.

There have been very few players in our academy system, who were so bad, they couldn''t have done 5-10 mins in a Prem season. We allowed ourselves to get a reputation for not bringing through players, compared to the rags, for example, who have a rep for bringing them through, purely because they bung a few in, here & there, to fill holes. Most never do anything else, but it's good PR, for the club & also helps them sell on average players, for decent money.

Unfortunately for them, they now have Jose Mourinho.

Possibly true about Mahrez, but not the case with Jesus.

Diaz best position is #10 , and I think he can replace Sergio better than Jesus.

At the end of the day both Diaz & Jesus are prospects that might or might not reach their high expected potential and be good enough to replace Sergio, but if I was going to bet I will bet on Diaz.

I disagree with you this time.

I understand when managers don't use youngsters as a first choice, but you can rely on them as 2nd choice when you believe in their talents.

Sancho was exceptional from the first few games he had with Dortmund until now.

And there should be room for tolerance for them specially when you see expensive players with high wages are having some below average performances.

Different people develop at different rates. The percentage that need to be playing regular senior football at 17 is pretty small.
