Jadon Sancho

And....Why cant you just enjoy this " most succesful period" without jumping into the sancho thread to berate another Blue for daring to discuss one of our former youth team players?

This isnt the official site ..where dumb down zombies nod at every thing the club do and shout hurrah.its all about opinions on here, and weather the club is succesful or shite, some of us will always refuse to be sheep and offer critical analysis.i hope that clarifies things for you.

I completely agree with KK .i,m not sure if you are being serious about barnes at leicester.we already have a mid- table level wide player from crappy leicester who effectively blocked an avenue to the first team for several of our youngsters....,are you serioulsy advocating the purchase of another?
Really??

No point debating when you have a clear bias against Mahrez and twist my post to state I think we should purchase Barnes? A one game comparison where the opposition was the same is just that a comparison, nothing more.

As for the Sheep shit, just another "rent a quote" generalisation made against people who are generally happy rather than negative.
I'm no fan of Gundogan or Danilo at LB, am I still a Sheep...

Im very happy pal
Im debating.nothing makes me happier.; )

I didn't call you a cheerleader.

I was reacting to the idea that you think I should be one & that having an opinion that there are things we can do better, is wrong.

I enjoyed watching City's youth teams since the 60s & don't bother anymore because there is no point.

I'm not about to apologise to you, for being unhappy about how that has turned out & wanting to see improvement.

Whatsmore, I recon a lot of people will be saying the same in the years to come uless there is a change.

Prices of average players are going through the roof.
I use to be excited for our youth players, but am not as much anymore. So when someone asks 'is it a loss for city if we lose this 15 year old academy player', I basically default to 'no' because they wouldn't make it here anyways. I kind of accept where this club is at in this regards, every couple of a years an academy MAY get into the squad, that's about it.

I think he will be sold next summer for more than 100 Million.

United might go for him to have front 3 of Martial - Rashford - Sancho

Gotta say the more I see Sancho at Dortmund the more impressed I am with him & he certainly doesn't look out of place in their team, albeit in a vastly poor quality league compared to the Premiership.

What stands out is his quick thinking decision making skills & he seems to be forming quite a relationship with his team mates. I initially thought he would do as most youngsters would try & head down take on the whole opposition & pass as the last resort but even yesterday his decision making at such a young age was mature & dare I say almost Sane-esque.

I can see why it didn't work out for both parties with City, he wasn't at the time (and still isn't) going to usurp Sterling or Sane & from a player perspective he simply wanted to play football & both our wingers are young & plan to be there for a long time.

However, I do think whilst in the short-term Sancho is reaping the benefits of playing first team football regularly, it would have been useful for his long term development & once in a lifetime opportunity to have been coached by Pep & his staff for an extra year or so training with the finest technical players week in & week out. At some point, teams are going to get more tape on him & most likely double up or plan to nullify his game & athleticism, so getting the technical & mental game trained up early in his career by Pep & his coaching staff where it becomes second nature may have helped face such on field adversities in the long run. Maybe Dortmund are providing him this, but I doubt on the same level as Pep.

The academy is there to make money and if possible furnish the first team with a sprinkling of players in the squad. We may fall lucky and have a Barcelona-esque period where 6 of them are brilliant, until then people need to see what the academy is really about, helping get round FFP

That would confirm them as little more than top 4 botherers. Rest assured though, they and Liverpool’s ‘fab 3’ Would be considered much better than our attack, despite winning less and scoring far fewer.
